Application Procedure

The applicants must satisfactorily pass the entrance examination in Chemistry and Biology in written form (multiple choices tests). Since the language of instruction is English, applicants should possess good command of English as well.
The Dean of the Faculty decides about the acceptance of students based on the success of the entrance exam and number of applicants for the given study programme.

Documents to be submitted
 

1. to the application for the study:

 
  • Signed Application form – only the application form attached will be accepted. All the required information must be filled in only by the computer not by hand, including the first name and surname as they appear in the passport or ID card. Application forms missing any information will be not accepted and registered.
  • Copy of passport / ID card
  • Confirmation about entrance exam fee payment, which is nonrefundable, for every applicant without exception
  • School leaving certificate

    According to the requirement by the Ministry of Education in Slovakia every applicant must submit the notary authorised copy of the apostillized certificate and its notary authorised translation by a court translator to Slovak language.
    NOTARY AND COURT TRANSLATOR MUST BE DONE IN SLOVAKIA.

    Applicants need to get “Apostille” in the original or notary authorised copy of the school leaving certificate (please check with the authority giving apostille). The certificate must be in the official language of the country where it has been issued.

    In case the country does not issue Apostille, the applicants must have the documents „superlegalized“. Superlagalization is done by the Ministry of Education, followed by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and finally by the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in that country or in the country which acts on its behalf.

     

    The exception are applicants who have completed their secondary education in the following countries: Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Germany, Poland and Romania.
    Applicants from the above named countries should provide the notary authorised copy of the certificate and its notary authorised translation by a court translator to Slovak language.
    Applicants who have completed their secondary education in France, Russia and Ukraine are not obliged to provide apostillized school leaving certificate, but must be willing to provide the original certificate for insight when required.
    Those applicants must provide the notary authorised copy of the certificate and its notary authorised translation by a court translator to Slovak language.

The application form and the required documents must be sent by the 7th of June 2013 at the latest.

Applicants, whose secondary education is not equivalent to the secondary education in the Slovak Republic are required to take one year preparation course in Biology, Chemistry, Biophysics, Slovak Language and English Language.

 2. to the registration in the year 1:
  • CV
  • One passport - size photograph
  • Verified copy of the birth certificate. If it is issued in other language than English, notary authorized translation to English or Slovak Language is required.

These documents must be submitted to the Study Department of UPJS MF by the date of the registration to the study according to the registration schedule, settled by UPJS MF), at the latest. If the student will not provide the required documents, he/she will not be registered to the study.

Entrance examination
An entrance examination test consists of 100 questions in Biology and 100 questions in Chemistry. The applicants have 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete the test.

The dates of Entrance examination:
– 21st June 2013
– 23rd August 2013
