♦ Abstrakty
Vrbjar D., Baláž D. & Bartko A. (2000): A database for the registration of plant species occurrence - D_fyto.
Abstract: In the contribution the authors present the program allowing the work in floristic database in the visual background Windows. The data from observations and literature are divided in three levels in the porgram. The basic one is locality, the next data level is represented by record and the last level is the level of finding. Besides visual and printed output, the important part of the program is also the export and import of the data among institutions allowing mutual exchange, as well as the centralisation of the data.
Vörösváry G. & Holly L.(2000): Documentation of plant genetic resources and information systems at the Institute for Agrobotany, Tápiószele.
Abstract: The Institute for Agrobotany is responsible for development and maintenance of National Genetic Resources Collections for field and vegetables crops and their wild relatives. Over 60.000 seed accessions (600 taxa) is stored in a controlled environment for medium (active collection) and long-term (base collection) conservation according to the FAO/IPGRI Genebank Standards.
Rončkevič V. (2000): Databases used in the Botanical Garden of Commenius University, Bratislava.
Abstract: In the contribution the author analyses the posibilities of exploitation of particular softwares in plant database establishment in the information system of the Botanical Garden of Commenius University.
Jurkovičová V. (2000): Herbarium management database as a part of Botanical Information System of Slovakia.
Abstract: The Botanical information system of Slovakia will be composed of databases of distribution data, database of accepted names and synonyms, database of chromosome numbers, nomenclatural database and herbarium management database. All databases together cover a wide variety of taxonomic research of Slovak vascular plants. Herbarium management database, at the beginning designed for storage of distribution data from herbarium specimens, now includes all features of herbarium management, such as permanent storage location, information about gathering, taxonomic identification and transaction management.
Mochnacký S. (2000): Information system in the Botanical Garden of P. J. Šafárik University Košice
Abstract: In the contribution the possibilities of the Botanical Garden of P.J. Šafárik University to ensure information on its activities are presented. It informs about particulat databases of plant collections, herbarium collection, scientific journal Thaiszia – Journal of Botany, Index Seminum, Interactive Informatory System. This information can be found on internet on web page www.upjs.sk.
Bielska T., Kirpluk I., Kornecki M. & Werblan-Jakubiec, H. (2000): Warsaw University Botanic Garden Plant Data Base.
Abstract: The contribution deals with the activities of the Botanical Garden of the Warszaw University.
Úradníček L. (2000): Perspectives in information systems of the Arboretum Řícmanice.
Abstract: The author briefly characterizes the activities of the Arboretum Řícmanice and proposes the possibilities of ensuring the information on wood species and herbarium collection by means of databases communicating in the program Windows.
Mácsayová M. & Solčiansky M. (2000): The employment of woody species and computer database of the genefund of the Arbotetum Mlyňany.
Abstract: In the contribution the authors present the informatory system in the Arboretum Mlyňany of the Slovak Academy of Sciences.
Vishnevska. L. (2000): databases in the National Botanic Gardens of Latvia.
Abstract: In the contribution the brief history and characterization of the introduction of information databases in the National Botanical Garden in Litva is given.
Velička M. (2000): Computer registration of collections for herbarium as a documentation of dendrological research.
Abstract: The author of the contribution presents the history of the dendrological research and the posibilities of the employment of PC in herbarium specimen documentation. Herbarium specimens prepared in this way represent an important element of documentation in dendrologic collections of arboreta, musea and botanical gardens.
Knoll M., Gažovčiak P. & Škrovina P. (2000): The employment of personal computers (PC) in fotodocumentation of plants as an information system of the Botanical Garden of Slovak Agricultural University in Nitra.
Abstract: In the contribution an importance of information in the activities of botanical gardens is pointed out. Brief history of the documentation of information in the Botanical Garden of Slovak Agricultural University in Nitra is given.
Ryliškis D. & Žilinskaitė S. (2000): Possibility of botanical gardens and arboretums of world receive Index Seminum by e - mail.
Abstract: The Botanical Garden of Vilnius University founded in 1781 have old traditions of seeds changes – the first catalogue was published in 1824. The Botanical Garden of Vilnius University has contact with 526 botanical gardens and arboretums from 67 countries. From 299 till 477 catalogues were sent and 94 – 242 catalogues were receive every year in 1990 – 1998. 242 botanical gardens and arboretums, that realizated the changes with Botanical Garden of Vilnius University every year, were questioned in 1999 – 2000 (Table 1). The 145 from them agreed to take Index Seminum by e – mail (Table 2), but 97 didn’t answer or answered in the negative.
Prokhorov A. A. (2000): Information -Searching System of Russian Botanical Gardens.
Abstract: The author presents information on informatory system in the Botanical Garden of Petrozavodsk city.
Weiß H. & Pietzarka U. (2000): Data Management in Tharandt Botanic Garden and Arboretum.
Abstract: For the various fields of activity in science, for student education as well as active public relations the information system "Tharandt Botanic Garden and Arboretum" provides an important tool. The comprehensive data basis enables an universal application for the most diverse issues. Thus, a genuine combination of pure factual data with geographic information is attained in a Botanic Garden. Besides the connection of crown radius maps with the individual data of each single woody species in a uniform presentation in terms of a computer-aided dendrological garden guide the results of interdisciplinary research are prepared as area-related data and visualised in the form of a source of information that can be readily queried. The most important task of the information system consists in presenting in a flexible fashion the entirety of the recorded individual data with direct reference to the respective areas in the Botanic Garden. The individual data of the woody plants are linked with crown radius maps and presented in an appropriate manner. The simultaneous presentation of crown radii in interactively selectable thematic maps (site map, hydrological map, climate map, contoured map) opens up additional opportunities for scientific handling and gardening.
Tomaško I. (2000): Organisation structure, information system and compleeting of the collections of the Arboretum Mlyňany of Slovak Academy of Sciences.
Abstract: The author presents brief history and presence of dendrological collections of the Arboretum Mlyňany of Slovak Academy of Sciences. On particular expositions he shows the possibility of employment of the informatory system for the visitors of the Arboretum.
