On 6th June 2007 The Slovak-American forum took place in the Comenius University library premises. It was focused on the field of higher education. Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice was represented by prof. RNDr.Eva Čellárová, PhD., prof. RNDr. Alexander Feher, PhD. and prof. MUDr. Igor Šulla, PhD.
The forum was open by Vice-Premier of the Slovak Republic and the Minister of Education Ján Mikolaj and the Ambassador of the USA Rodolphe M. Vallee.
Quality of education and scientific research, position of private sector and student´s preparation for their future profession were the main topics of the forum. Prof. RNDr. Eva Čellárová, PhD. contributed to the forum with presentation on P. J. Šafárik University offerings to prospective US students, quality of education and student services.
Besides Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, the Slovak Republic was actively represented also by universities in Bratislava, Ružomberok, Banská Bystrica, Nitra as well as by representatives of private and public sector. The US universities were represented by the representatives from universities in Texas, Delaware, Pittsburgh, North Carolina, Washington, who suggested possibilities of cooperation with Slovak universities and informed about their experience in research and innovation promotion and relations between universities and private sector.
