A briefing for the media with the topic “Women are strongly present in the IT world, and they are not afraid to talk about it!” took place in the Papa cafe in the Kulturpark on Thursday in April 28, 2016, within which the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice was represented by Alica Kačengová. Alica Kačengová is a third-year student of computer science at the Faculty of Science. She was interested in computer science from a very young age, and she is convinced that a high number of girls have a systematic approach towards learning, and this is a big advantage when studying computer science.

The aim of the event was to point out successful women in the IT sphere. They are wise, creative, ambitious, beautiful, and they know how to multitask. They fluently speak foreign languages, they manage their IT career confidently, and they are also successful in their personal life. The Women’s Day in IT enables to present “men’s IT world” to women worldwide. It points out the possibilities to start their career in the technical fields. Ko3ice IT Valley is represented by more than 50 organisations and/or firms, whose women employees and students are examples of women, who change the world in the IT sphere. They are daughters, friends, girlfriends, colleagues, wives, mothers, while they are also students of IT, IT administrators, programmers, IT architects, IT testers, IT project managers, or managers.
