Košice – Innovation Cluster

On the 6th March 2012 the lecture titled European Union and Slovakia – the present and the future (education, science, research and innovation) took place in the premises of the Technical University in Košice. The Chairman of the Slovak Republic National Council’s Committee on Education, Science, Youth and Sports, Mr. Dušan Čaplovič, accepted the invitation to the public discussion of the representatives of three universities in Košice.

Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, represented by the Rector, prof. MUDr. Ladislav Mirossay, DrSc., took part in the discussion on the topic of University Scientific Parks in Košice. Presentations of the other two universities affirmed the necessity to create such facilities. Technical University in Košice was represented by the Rector, prof. Ing. Anton Čižmár, CSc., and the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice by its Rector, prof. MVDr. Emil Pilipčinec, PhD.

The result of mutual cooperation and scientific connections between the universities and departments of Slovak Academy of Sciences was the creation of UVP TECHNICOM and  MEDIPARK projects and their despatch to the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic.
