Representatives of the Embassy of the French Republic in Slovakia and the European Parliament Office in Slovakia visited UPJŠ in Košice

On Friday, September 27, 2019, representatives of the Embassy of the French Republic in Slovakia and the European Parliament Office in Slovakia visited the University of Pavol Jozef Šafárik in Košice. The joint meeting at the Rectorate of UPJŠ in Košice was attended by Ambassador of the French Republic to Slovakia J. E. Christophe Léonzi, Attaché for Scientific and University Cooperation from the French Embassy in Slovakia François-Xavier Mortreuil and Dionýz Hochel from the European Parliament Office in Slovakia. The Rector of UPJŠ prof. RNDr. Pavol Sovák, CSc., Vice-Rector for International Relations and Mobility doc. Ing. Silvia Ručinská, PhD. and Dean of the Faculty of Arts, UPJŠ prof. PhDr. Oľga Orosová, CSc. Among the guests present were Honorary Consul David Mortreux, prof. PhDr. Eugen Andreanský, PhD. and President of the Slovak-French University Institute PhDr. Mária Paľová, PhD. from the Department of English and American Studies at UPJŠ.

At a joint meeting, they discussed the cooperation between UPJŠ and the Embassy of the French Republic in Slovakia and the university’s cooperation with the Slovak-French University Institute, in particular in the field of language study programs at the University, scholarships and the possibility of future joint events at the University.

Besides the joint discussion and meeting, the participants also participated in the project of the Model European Parliament in the Historical Hall of the Rectorate of UPJŠ in Košice.
