Success of Young UPJŠ Oncologists

On the occasion of the Cancer Research Day, the Foundation for Cancer Research in cooperation with the Cancer Research Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences announced the Contest of young oncologist for the best piece of work in the field of cancer research.

On the 6th and 7th March the presentation of the selected projects, divided into three categories (secondary school students, university students, young researchers) took place. The presentations were selected by the expert panel consisting of representatives of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, the Cancer Research Foundation and clinical departments professionals. The most important selection criteria was the topic’s actuality and contribution to further research.

The UPJŠ Faculty of Science student Bc. Jana Vargová won the second place in the “University student“ category and RNDr. Rastislav Jendželovský, PhD. (UPJŠ Faculty of Science, Department of Biological and Ecological Sciences) came third in the  “Young researcher up to 35 years of age“ category .
