The Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice is among the European elite according to the Best Global Universities ranking

The Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice ranked 934th in the world and 378th in Europe according to the latest Best Global Universities ranking. Within the evaluation of the Slovak universities it is the second best university in Slovakia. Compared to the previous year the university improved its overall score because of the improvement in its global reputation indicator.

“The ranking of the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice proves that research and scientific outputs at our university show high quality continuously and it also highlights the university’s scientific profiling. Good placements in prestigious rankings cannot be ensured otherwise than by long-term quality work“ said the rector of the university, prof. RNDr. Pavol Sovák, CSc.

The renowned Best Global Universities ranking is prepared by U.S. News, which published its fifth annual global university ranking this year. The Best Global Universities Ranking focuses on the global comparison of universities to provide information to students and the public about the most successful universities in the world. In its assessment it tracks the research activities and the reputation of the university. It encompasses a total of 1250 top institutions from 75 countries.

The Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice has been ranked in renowned ratings and rankings for several years – besides Best Global Universities Ranking, for example, in URAP and U-Multirank – and it has reached good positions, while in comparison with other Slovak universities it is regularly in the first two to three.
