On the 29th of November 2011 the Rector of P. J. Šafárik University in Košice, prof. MUDr. Ladislav Mirossay, DrSc., had an opportunity to welcome to the premises of Rectorate the delegates of Chernivtsi National University, namely prof. Dr. Yuriy Lopatynskyy (the Vice-Rector for International Relations of Chernivtsi National University), doc. Dr. Sergiy Nezhurbida (the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Law), Mr. Sergiy Lukanyuk, MA (Head of the International Office) and dr. Valentyna Vasylova (Head of the Centre for European Studies). At the meeting the UPJŠ was represented by the Vice-Rector for International Relations, doc. Mgr. Slávka Tomaščíková, PhD., the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Public Administration, doc. Ing. Silvia Ručinská, PhD., the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Law, JUDr. Regina Hučková, PhD. and the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science, doc. RNDr. Michal Jaščur, CSc. Various topics of public and cultural life were discussed in a friendly atmosphere, together with issue related to the priorities of present higher education in the Slovak Republic and abroad. The Universities’ educational and research achievement were compared. The guests were strongly interested in UPJŠ development and investment plans, and they also expressed interest in bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the area of law, public administration, geography and physics that could be carried out under the framework of cross-border cooperation.
