While the teaching within the summer semester is over, the faculty building was busy and cheerful on the 12th of July 2016- it was visited by 52 fifth-year and sixth-year primary school children within the project University without borders, including several children from orphanages.
The students were welcomed by the President of Academic Senate of the Faculty of Medicine- doc. MUDr. Peter Jarčuška, PhD., mim.prof., who told them about the history and activities of the Faculty of Medicine - one of the high-quality educational institutions in the Slovakia (it has gained 3.95 points out of 4.0 within the last accreditation). The children also found out how plenty things to do awaited them and then they were playfully educated three hours in the morning and an hour in the afternoon at the Faculty of Medicine,UPJŠ – they trained caring of their teeth and the treatment of wounds and learned something about a healthy lifestyle, the importance of omega fatty acids in our diet and also the relationship between the human health and social status.
The pleasantly spent day was demonstrated by the fact that while after arriving at the Faculty of Medicine,UPJŠ in the morning, only six children raised their hands after the question about who would like to study medicine, but in the afternoon there were many more hands after the same question. The children spent a vacation day full of games and interesting information at the Faculty of Medicine, UPJŠ.
