Forty-seven elementary school pupils visited the Faculty of Medicine, UPJS on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. The participants of the project University without Borders were welcomed by the Vice-Dean Silvia Timková, M.D., PhD. and coordinator of the event RNDr. Jaroslava Oravcová at the Faculty of Medicine. At the beginning, the children learned something about the oldest faculty of the Pavol Jozef Safarik University in Kosice, which celebrates its 70th anniversary of its establishment this year and what an interesting program the staff have prepared for them.
Children visited the Department of Nursing Care, where they got acquainted with healthy nutrition, then they visited the Department of Medical and Clinical Microbiology, where they got to know the human parasites and the Department of Experimental Medicine, where they tried pipetting. The employees of the 1st Department of Stomatology and students of dental medicine talked about the importance and construction of human dentition, oral cavity diseases and trained the correct procedures in dental hygiene with them. The day spent at the FM UPJS was entertaining and educational at the same time for the students, which decided to sit at school and learn something interesting during their summer holidays, and they rated the program very positively.
