Students of the Faculty of Medicine, UPJŠ organized the fourth year of the educational event MOVEMBER focused on spreading of public awareness about testicular and prostate cancer to visitors of the Aupark Shopping Center in Košice on Saturday, November 24, 2018. The event of the Association of Medical Students in Košice was extremely successful. Twenty medical students addressed more than seven hundred people and also celebrities did not give them a refusal.
"The event took place from 10.00 a.m. to 6 p.m. and we addressed 709 people, mostly men. We were delighted that we could also talk with singer Lukáš Adamec and actor, moderator and singer Filip Tůma, who were willing to take a photo with us and also listened to important information about male health. We have tried to explain the importance and possibilities of prevention of testicular cancer and prostate cancer and, in particular, the importance of self-examination of testes. We explained to them the right technique of self-examination on a silicone model on which the men were trying to find a pathological lump," says co-organizer of the event, a student of the 5th year, FM UPJŠ- Lule Tomiq.
The main aim of the students was to show that men's health care is not a taboo and should be a part of their everyday life.
