The Matriculation ceremony of the 1st year students of the study programmes General Medicine and Dental Medicine in Slovak and English language and Bachelor’s study programmes Nursing Care, Physiotherapy and Public Health took place at the Assembly Hall of the Faculty of Medicine, UPJŠ on Thursday, November 14, 2019. More than 500 out of a total of 611 students of the 1st year were present.
The students took a vow by which they promised to perform their study duties, to respect the decisions of the Academic Senate, University and the Faculty of Medicine, to study the best way to bring all-purpose benefit,  to honor, protect and spread reputation of their Alma Mater and not to commit anything to damage it.
After the ceremonial taking of vow, they were named to the matriculation board and listened to the speech of the Dean prof. Daniel Pella, M.D., PhD. who pointed out that matriculation ceremony is also an opportunity to think about what to expect in the next years, to set the aims and to make resolutions that will accompany them throughout the study.
“You will be waiting for years spent in lecture halls and practice rooms, and stage fright and fear will alternate with joy, but at the same time, it will be unforgettable years of student life … “I wish the time that you spend at our Alma Mater would be the best time of your life…,” wished Dean to students.
