The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, UPJŠ prof. Daniel Pella, M.D. PhD. participated in a meeting with Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini with the representatives of the Slovak medical faculties at the Government Office of the Slovak Republic on Friday, January 31, 2020. They agreed to accept a higher number of applicants for medical study in the Slovak language in the next academic year, which should, according to the Prime Minister, help increase the number of doctors working in Slovak hospitals.
The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, UPJŠ prof. Daniel Pella, M.D., PhD.  pointed out the need to modernize Slovak healthcare facilities to stabilize doctors in Slovakia at the meeting with the Prime Minister and at the subsequent press conference. He also pointed out the need to improve the teaching of medical students by building simulator centers.
In the context of the teaching of foreign students, the Dean of the FM UPJŠ noted that this teaching is not only a “knowledge economy”, but is also related to the ranking of universities and it is a matter of prestige for each faculty.
