Within European Move Week on the 8th October 2013, Tuesday, not just staff and students of UPJŠ MF, but also the public, participated in activities "To move to stairs“. Move Week took place in the Faculty building at Trieda SNP 1 and was organized by the Students´ Medical Association of Košice in cooperation with Department of Sports Activities UPJS in Košice. Its idea was to promote the use of one of the easiest and approachable physical activities - walk up the stairs, and also to enhance public awareness about the importance of exercise as part of a healthy lifestyle and the importance of prevention as the first elementary step of maintaining your health. The action started around 8.00 a.m. and lasted to 2.00 p.m. in order to motivate students, teachers and other faculty staff to miss the lifts in the 10-floor building. The idea of supporting the movement as an important element in prevention of many diseases met with a favourable response.
