The XXXII.  Conference of the Department of Paediatric and Adolescents Medicine (2^th – 3^th June, 2016, Košice) was held under the patronage of the mayor of Košice – MUDr. Richard Raši PhD. MPH., and dean of medical faculty of P.J.Š. University- prof. MUDr. Daniel Pella PhD. and under professional guarantee of  the head of the department –doc. MUDr. Ingrid Schusterovej, PhD., and the president of the Slovak Pediatric Society – Doc. MUDr. Milana Kuchtu, CSc., mim. prof.

The conference was dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the performance of the Children’s Hospital in Košice and the 105^th anniversary of the birth of prof. Démant.

Honorary guests of the event were univ.-prof. Dr. Thomas Müller (Universität Innsbruck), prof. Dr. Zoltán Szilvássy, (University of Debrecen), and chief Pediatrician of Ministry of Heath of Slovak Republic – prof. MD. Peter Bánovčin, CSc.

(Trenčín), prof. MD. J. Slaný, CSc. (Trnava), MUDr. J. Kovaľ, PhD. (Prešov), Doc. MD. M. Jeseňák, PhD., MPH (Martin), MUDr. A. Čierna (Zvolen), MUDr. J. Fábry, PhD. (Dolný Smokovec), MD. M. Miškovská, PhD. (Dolný Smokovec), MD. J. Jakubička (Nitra), MD. J. Tenora (Prostějov, Czech Republic), prof. MD. K. Králinský, PhD. (Banská Bystrica), MD. R. Moses (Liptovsky Mikulas).

The lecture of doc. MUDr. I. Schusterova, PhD. was focused on the risk factors of the aortic aneurysm in children. The mayor of the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, MUDr. E. Sadová talked about issues of kidney cysts in paediatrics nephrology.

Doc. MUDr. Kuchta M., CSc., Mim. prof. focused on optimal nutrition during the first 1000 days of life and the role of paediatrician in this process.

Director of Children’s Faculty Hospital– MUDr. I. Urbančíková, PhD., MPH, Deputy of Children’s Faculty Hospital–  MUDr. I. Jenčo and MUDr. M. Pisarčíková, PhD. presented their clinical experience.

Doc. MUDr. V. Vargová, PhD. talked about the differential diagnosis of vasculitis of large vessels in childhood.

MD. A. Tóhátyová, PhD. and MUDr. M. Jarčušková introduced the new ambulatory interdisciplinary outpatient program “School of obesity” and talked about the importance of treatment of obesity and primary prevention of obesity induced diseases in children.

MD. J. Ferenczová, PhD. and team of authors’ discused endocrine complications in children with cystic fibrosis.
Jubilants and important pediatricians – MUDr. B. Šoltysova, Doc. MD. M. Kuchta., CSc., Prof. MUDr. Prof. Šimurka, PhD., Doc. MD. K. Holečková, PhD. prim. MD. D. Tomko, prim. MD. J. Jakubička obtained medals of Slovak Paediatrics Society.
