In accordance with the concept of the branch of plastic surgery, the Department deals with prevention, diagnostics, treatment, assessment of, and research into certain birth defects, especially cleft lip and palate, congenital defects of ears, nose, periorbital area, blepharophimosis, congenital defects on the neck, such as pterygium, congenital cysts and fistulas of the neck and head, inborn breast defects, reconstruction of abdominal wall defects and other defects on the trunk, also congenital anomalies of limbs, especially hands, it deals with damage and loss injuries to the skin and soft tissues, subsequent reconstruction and correction of scars from burns, it copes with with injuries to tendons and nerves, especially secondary reconstructive options for these injuries. Another part of the clinical work addresses revascularization and replantation surgery in amputation of the hand up to the wrist, planned reconstruction operations in loss injuries and defects using a wide range of options including microsurgical technology, it solves defects and chronic wounds such as pressure sores, chronic ulcers on the lower leg and foot, a large volume of surgical treatment of tumors is represented by skin and soft tissues cancer treatment, congenital and acquired deformations and scars, including aesthetic surgery.
