The Faculty of Science in Košice in cooperation with the NGO STROM organised for the fifth time on the 15th of April 2016 on the grounds of the Alejová 1 grammar school in Košice the international mathematical competition Náboj. The competition was held simultaneously in five other countries, in the Czech Republic (Prague, Opava), in Hungary (Budapest, Veszprém), in Poland (Krakau, Warsaw, WroclaW, Gdynia), in the Austrian town of Linz and the German town of Passau. Náboj is an international competition in mathematics for teams of five from each representative school. The competition is limited to 120 minutes, in which time the individual teams have to solve as many assignments as they can. There were two main age categories: Junior (1st and 2nd year grammar schoolers) and Senior (1st to 4th year grammar schoolers). In all 337 senior and 418 junior teams took part in the competition. The winner in the Junior category was the team from the Alejová 1 grammar school in Košice and in the Senior category it was the team from the Poštová 9 grammar school in Košice. The prizes for the winners were awarded by the vice-dean for external relations of the FS of the UPJŠ, doc. RNDr. Marián Kireš, PhD.
