At\u00a0its ceremonial meeting on\u00a0Monday, 27 January 2020, the\u00a0Scientific Board of\u00a0Pavol Jozef \u0160af\u00e1rik University in\u00a0Ko\u0161ice awarded the\u00a0honorary degree of\u00a0Doctor Honoris Causa to\u00a0Professor Maciej Banach from\u00a0the\u00a0Medical University of\u00a0Lodz, a renowned figure in the field of medicine. The ceremony took place in\u00a0the\u00a0Historic Aula of\u00a0Pavol Jozef \u0160af\u00e1rik University in\u00a0Ko\u0161ice and\u00a0was attended by\u00a0many distinguished guests.<\/p>\n

Professor Maciej Banach has become the\u00a042nd\u00a0awardee of\u00a0the\u00a0honorary title of\u00a0Dr.\u00a0h.\u00a0c.<\/a> at\u00a0Pavol Jozef \u0160af\u00e1rik University in Ko\u0161ice. Professor Banach was nominated for\u00a0the\u00a0honorary degree by\u00a0the\u00a0Faculty of\u00a0Medicine, Pavol Jozef \u0160af\u00e1rik University in\u00a0Ko\u0161ice, for\u00a0his internationally recognised work and\u00a0his\u00a0collaboration with\u00a0the\u00a0university in\u00a0the\u00a0professional education of\u00a0the\u00a0university\u2019s employees on\u00a0the\u00a0occasion of\u00a0the\u00a070th anniversary of\u00a0the\u00a0establishment of\u00a0the\u00a0Faculty of\u00a0Medicine and\u00a060th anniversary of\u00a0the\u00a0establishment of\u00a0Pavol Jozef \u0160af\u00e1rik University in\u00a0Ko\u0161ice.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is an\u00a0immense honour for\u00a0me to have\u00a0been awarded the\u00a0degree of\u00a0Doctor Honoris Causa at\u00a0your university today. It also means a\u00a0great responsibility and\u00a0obligation to\u00a0work hard to\u00a0promote science, especially in\u00a0the fields I represent\u00a0\u2013\u00a0preventive cardiology and\u00a0lipidology\u00a0\u2013\u00a0in\u00a0Poland, Europe, especially its\u00a0central and\u00a0eastern parts, and\u00a0the\u00a0whole world,\u201d<\/strong> said Dr.\u00a0h.\u00a0c.\u00a0prof.\u00a0MUDr.\u00a0Maciej\u00a0Banach,\u00a0PhD.<\/p>\n
