\tOn the 19 September 2011 Pavol Jozef \u0160af\u00e1rik University staff and students met in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine for the opening ceremony of the academic year\u00a0 2011\/2012. The Rector of Pavol Jozef \u0160af\u00e1rik University in Ko\u0161ice, prof. MUDr. Ladislav Mirossay, DrSc. expressed his belief that the new academic year can provide space for the creation of human spiritual values. He wished all the students, and the first-year students in particular, great success in their studies and fulfilment of their expectations.<\/p>\n
\tIn the academic year 2010\/2011 there were 8,\u00a0377 students studying at the five faculties of P. J. \u0160af\u00e1rik University in Ko\u0161ice, among them 1,\u00a0261 students in a part-time study programmes and the total of 561 doctoral (PhD) students.<\/p>\n
\tThe opening of the new premises of the Faculty of Arts on Moyzesova Str. 9 \u2013 the \u201cAristotle\u201d building, in the presence of faculty and university staff, students and guests, represented a special part of the ceremony. The \u201cribbon cutting\u201d symbolically opened the door of education for lecturers and students \u2013 philosophers and philologists.\u00a0The \u201cAristotle\u201d building will house\u00a0 60 staff of six departments and 15 new auditoriums will create excellent conditions for lectures and seminars for more than 450 students. Practical classes will be performed in a film and television studio, a phonetic laboratory and a multimedia room. Reconstruction of the building was financed by the sources from the project Creating the OPEN DOOR University by Implementation of the Modern ICT and Reconstruction of the Faculty of Arts Building in the U<\/em>PJ\u0160 Premises. <\/em>The total amount of the project was \u20ac 5, 004 295.32, out of which the costs of building reconstruction was \u20ac 2, 488 704.99,\u00a0and the contractor was SCHOTT, Ltd., Bardejov.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
