Prof. RNDr. Pavol Sov\u00e1k, CSc., the rector of the Pavol Jozef \u0160af\u00e1rik University in Ko\u0161ice received prof. Mark Wiliam Meisel, PhD., and awarded him the\u00a0 Commemorative Medal of the Pavol Jozef \u0160af\u00e1rik University in Ko\u0161ice in June 28, 2016. The prestigious award was granted on the occasion of completion of his “sabbatical year” stay on the grounds of the Faculty of Science of the P. J. \u0160af\u00e1rik University in Ko\u0161ice and for his contribution to the development of the university in science and education. The meeting at the Rectorate was held in the presence of doc. RNDr. Gabriel Semani\u0161in, PhD., the dean of the Faculty of Science, Dr.h.c prof. RNDr. Alexander Feher, DrSc., the director of the Institute of Physics of the Faculty of Science, and prof. RNDr. Eva \u010cell\u00e1rov\u00e1, DrSc. from the Institute of Biology and Ecology of the Faculty of Science.<\/p>\n
Professor Meisel from the University of Florida in Gainesville is a recognized scientists worldwide, a teacher in the field of physics of condensed systems and a holder of the honorary title Doctor Honoris Causa in Physics, which was issued by the Pavol Jozef \u0160af\u00e1rik University in Ko\u0161ice in November 12, 2010.
