On Wednesday, September 25, 2019, a nine-member group of representatives of local governments, university, state agency and youth organizations from the northern part of Norway from Kirkenes, Troms\u00f8 and Bod\u00f8 visited the University of Pavol Jozef \u0160af\u00e1rik in Ko\u0161ice.<\/p>\n
The meeting was held in the reconstructed Grand Meeting of the Rectorate of UPJ\u0160 in Ko\u0161ice with the participation of the Vice-Rector for International Relations doc. Ing. Silvia Ru\u010dinsk\u00e1, PhD. The purpose of the meeting was to introduce the representatives of organizations whose work and activity may be a prerequisite for future international cooperation, preparation of joint projects or seeking mutual institutional support.<\/p>\n
After an introduction of the guests and the main objectives, mission and focus of UPJ\u0160, there was a discussion about the problems of the regions of eastern Slovakia, eastern Slovakia and northern Norway, eg. the departure of talented young people to another part of the country or abroad, the barriers associated with crossing the Schengen border, internationalization and the creation of an international working environment, and more. Positive was the willingness of the Norwegian partners to share their experience and know-how directly at the workshop, as well as the openness to discuss possibilities for future cooperation.
