In 2023, the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was awarded to Katalin Karik\u00f3 and Drew Weissman for their discoveries regarding modifications to nucleoside bases that enabled the development of effective mRNA vaccines against COVID-19. The scientific community worldwide accepts the use of mRNA vaccines in the prevention of Covid. Pavol Jozef \u0160af\u00e1rik University in Ko\u0161ice respects the results of evidence-based medicine, therefore, the management of the UPJ\u0160 in Ko\u0161ice strongly distances itself from the statements of the Authorized Representative Peter Kotl\u00e1r, which deny the results of evidence-based medicine. His statements discredit recommended medical procedures and cause fear and distrust in society.
