{"id":42940,"date":"2020-07-20T14:23:16","date_gmt":"2020-07-20T14:23:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.upjs.sk\/aktualne-spravy\/23420\/"},"modified":"2022-11-10T00:49:43","modified_gmt":"2022-11-10T00:49:43","slug":"23420","status":"publish","type":"cpt_aktualne_spravy","link":"https:\/\/www.upjs.sk\/en\/aktualne-spravy\/23420\/","title":{"rendered":"Physics in Ko\u0161ice scored in the Nature Index"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The scientific results of Slovak universities and scientific institutions ranked 51st in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.natureindex.com\/country-outputs\/slovakia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nature Index<\/a> worldwide.<br \/> The currently published<strong> Nature Index ranking <\/strong>covers the<strong> period 1.6.2019 &#8211; 31.5.2020<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pavol Jozef \u0160af\u00e1rik University in Ko\u0161ice was the fourth in the Slovak Republic to record a total of 24 published articles with an author&#8217;s share at level 2. UPJ\u0160 recorded the highest number of articles with the author&#8217;s contribution from the <strong>faculty of science<\/strong> in the <strong>Journal of High Energy Physics<\/strong> and <strong>Physical Review Letters<\/strong> (count = 7) journal. Highest share of an authorship was recorded by the employees of Pavol Jozef \u0160af\u00e1rik University in Ko\u0161ice within the journal Applied Physics Letters.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>Slovak Academy of Sciences<\/strong> took first place in the Slovak Republic with 81 published articles and 6.07 authorship. <strong>Comenius University<\/strong> took second place with 76 published articles and 5.19 authorship. Third in the ranking was the <strong>Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava<\/strong> with a total of 11 articles and an author&#8217;s share at level 3.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>Nature Index<\/strong> analyzes the contributions of authors in 82 journals selected by independent experts, such as TOP journals in the natural sciences. The indicators are evaluated for the monitored period:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>number of articles (count).<\/strong> Each article where one of the authors was an employee of the institution, regardless of the total number of authors of the article, is included in the number.<br \/> \t\u00a0<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>share of authors in individual articles (share).<\/strong> The indicator evaluates the author&#8217;s share of the article within the entire author&#8217;s team.
