At the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, a special software Turnitin is used to detect potential plagiarism. Turnitin is an anti-plagiarism system or tool for verifying the originality of text. Its main task is to prevent plagiarism. Turnitin allows the documents that are part of its database to be compared against each other, and in this way it is possible to find documents that are similar in content to the document being compared, i.e. potential plagiarism. This tool can be used at the university by lecturers, researchers, administrators, and students.
