A number of several <strong><a aria-label=\"scientific conferences and workshops (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.upjs.sk\/filozoficka-fakulta\/en\/pracoviska\/department-of-history\/17018-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">scientific conferences and workshops<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;are held by the Department annually as a result of its research projects and cooperation with other institutions. Besides them the published pieces of our work are often presented to public. Moreover, organization&nbsp;of the <strong><a aria-label=\"Meeting&nbsp;of Young Historians (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.upjs.sk\/filozoficka-fakulta\/en\/pracoviska\/department-of-history\/17019-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">Meeting&nbsp;of Young Historians<\/a><\/strong>, at which doctoral students from both Slovakia and neighbouring countries introduce their work in a discussion with other historians, has become an annual tradition in Ko\u0161ice. During semester the students have the opportunity to attend <strong><a aria-label=\"guest lectures (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.upjs.sk\/filozoficka-fakulta\/en\/pracoviska\/department-of-history\/17020-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">guest lectures<\/a><\/strong> of experts from Slovakia and from abroad. The most active students present their papers at the <strong><a aria-label=\"Students Scientific Conference (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.upjs.sk\/filozoficka-fakulta\/en\/pracoviska\/department-of-history\/17021-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">Students Scientific Conference<\/a><\/strong>. <br><br>Many events, nevertheless, are intended for broad general public interested in history. In the years 2013 &#8211; 2016, thus, in cooperation with National&nbsp;Memory Institute,&nbsp;the Department&nbsp;realized numerous <strong><a aria-label=\"Discussion Evenings (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.upjs.sk\/filozoficka-fakulta\/en\/pracoviska\/department-of-history\/17022-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">Discussion Evenings<\/a><\/strong> focused on diversified political and social themes&nbsp;of history of Slovakia in the 20th century. Currently our staff together with our active students organizes additional <strong><a aria-label=\"events for the students and public (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.upjs.sk\/filozoficka-fakulta\/en\/pracoviska\/department-of-history\/17023-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">events for the students and public<\/a><\/strong>,&nbsp;such as&nbsp;workshops, expositions and&nbsp;excursions.&nbsp;These&nbsp;events help in disserminating and communicating our research results, as well as in showing historical connotations of the contemporary social issues.
