International Symposium<\/strong><\/p>\n Athero-prevent<\/strong><\/p>\n International symposium Athero-prevent was held under the auspices of doc. MUDr. Ingrid Schusterova, PhD.<\/em><\/strong> president of Atherosclerosis<\/p>\n Section of the SSKB, the head of the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine of UPJS LF and DFN Kosice, in cooperation with Cardiovascular Disease Prevention section of the <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n The aim of the conference was to highlight the importance of stratification not only of traditional risk factors, but also of non-traditional risk factors and biomarkers of <\/strong><\/p>\n Honorable guest of the event was Professor Richard L. Atkinson, MD from the USA (Past President of NAASO, ASCN and the American Obesity <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n triacylglycerol concentrations in Adv36 seropositive individuals. Affecting Adv36 can be a solution to the problem, which is one of the major health priorities on a national, European and global scale.<\/p>\n Over the past 10 years, several research centers across the world have begun to monitor the prevalence of Adv36 infection and it\u2018s association with obesity, the Department of<\/p>\n Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine of UPJS LF and DFN in Kosice, under the auspices the head of department, doc. MUDr. Ingrid Schusterova, PhD. Is one of them.<\/p>\n Doc. MUDr. Ingrid Schusterova, PhD. and MD. Al<\/em><\/strong>\u017ebeta T\u00f3h\u00e1tyov\u00e1, PhD.<\/em><\/strong> (Kosice) presented the results of the<\/p>\n above-mentioned research, which focused on the role of non-traditional risk factors in the pathogenesis of obesity and cardiovascular changes. RNDr. J\u00e1n Kir\u00e1ly, PhD (Kosice), addressed the ADv36 in his<\/p>\n lecture, from the viewpoint of the virologist.<\/p>\n The 1st<\/sup> year of the international symposium Athero-prevent hosted also prominent Czech specialists, prof. MUDr. Josef Hy\u00e1nek, DrSc. (Czech <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n MUDr. Tvrzick\u00e1<\/em><\/strong> in her lecture presented the role of stearic acid in PUFA metabolism.<\/p>\n Part of the symposium was also the baptism of the book of doc. MUDr. Jozef Koll\u00e1r, DrSc .:<\/em><\/strong> Aterotrombosis, Pathophysiology and Epidemiology.<\/p>\n Professor in his honorary lecture pointed out the importance of cholesterol from the global view of metabolism.<\/p>\n About the relationship of microbiome to obesity says Doc. MUDr. Milan Kuchta, CSc, mim. prof.<\/em><\/strong> (Kosice), President of the SPS.<\/p>\n MUDr. Pavol \u0160imurka, PhD.<\/em><\/strong> (Trencin), in his speech, points out the importance of cholesterol across Slovakia and it\u2018s role in the primary<\/p>\n prevention of atherosclerosis in childhood.<\/p>\n In this forum, experts from the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine of UPJS LF and DFN in Kosice, from the Faculty of Humanities and Natural Sciences,<\/p>\n Presov University presented their experiences and results.<\/p>\n The long-term effects of cardiovascular risk factors and the epidemic of childhood obesity increase the urgency of primary prevention of cardiovascular disease in early<\/p>\n childhood.<\/p>\n
