The UPJ\u0160 FM and LP UH Department of Physiatry, Balneology, and Medical Rehabilitation is a clinical workplace, which provides undergraduate teaching of students of General Medicine, Dentistry, and Physiotherapy. In the field of postgraduate training, it is an accredited unit in specialist training for physicians in the medical specialization of Physiatry and Medical Rehabilitation and for physical therapists in the branch of Physiotherapy of the CNS Disorders.<\/p>\n

In the field of scientific research, the Department focuses on the issues of comprehensive cardiorehabilitation, rehabilitation of lung diseases, breast cancer, the issues of vertebrogenic diseases. It examines possible modifications of heart rate variability by non-pharmacological methods. It collaborates with experts from the World Health Organization in the functional classification of post-traumatic states.<\/p>\n

In the medical sphere, the Department provides comprehensive in-patient and out-patient physiatric rehabilitation care especially of patients with musculoskeletal disorders, central and peripheral nervous systems, in post-traumatic states, of amputees, and after joints prosthetics.<\/p>\n
