Credits ECTS allow, on the basis of defined educational outcomes and the related burden, mutual comparison of the realized study, which provides students with greater flexibility in choosing study programs. It is a central tool of the <a href=\"https:\/\/education.ec.europa.eu\/levels\/higher-education\/inclusion-connectivity\/bologna-process-european-higher-education-area\" class=\"ek-link\">Bologna Process<\/a>, which aims to achieve better international comparability of national higher education systems. It helps students with mobility between countries, recognition of academic degrees and periods of study abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ECTS has been introduced in most countries of the European Higher Education Area as a national credit system and its use is constantly expanding. UPJ\u0160 in Ko\u0161ice has a defined method of allocating credits at all three levels of higher education as part of the study regulations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/intranet.upjs.sk\/op\/op.Public.php?documentid=5829\" class=\"ek-link\">Study Rules<\/a> of Procedure at UPJ\u0160 in Ko\u0161ice for the I., II., and joined I. and II. degree of study in <a href=\"https:\/\/intranet.upjs.sk\/op\/op.Public.php?documentid=6159\" class=\"ek-link\">Annex No. 1<\/a> informs about recommended method of allocating credits to subjects in the creation of study programs at UPJ\u0160 at the 1st, 2nd and joined 1st and 2nd level of study.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.upjs.sk\/app\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2022\/11\/phd-study-regulations-upjs-2019.pdf\" class=\"ek-link\">Study regulations for doctoral studies<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/intranet.upjs.sk\/op\/op.Public.php?documentid=6160\" class=\"ek-link\">Annex No. 1<\/a> inform about the recommended method of allocating credits to subjects in the creation of doctoral study programmes at UPJ\u0160 in Ko\u0161ice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.upjs.sk\/app\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2022\/09\/ects.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the academic year 2001\/2002, a study credit system was introduced at the Pavol Jozef \u0160af\u00e1rik University in Ko\u0161ice (UPJ\u0160), Faculty of Medicine, which is in accordance with the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).
