More than 1,600 international students have successfully completed their studies and earned a degree in the field of General Medicine or Dental Medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Faculty of Medicine provides university study for international students in two medical branches:<br>General Medicine &#8211; the study lasts 6 years (12 terms)<br>Dental Medicine &nbsp; &#8211; the study lasts 5 years (10 terms)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both &#8211; General Medicine and Dental Medicine &#8211; are available for international students with a good command of English. The Faculty of Medicine is closely connected with the Teaching Hospital in Ko\u0161ice, in which practical education in clinical disciplines is carried out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-style: solid; border-width: 1px; float: right; height: 130px; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-left: 0.8em; width: 200px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.upjs.sk\/app\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2022\/11\/B4.jpg\" alt=\"\">The last years of study are concerned with practical training in hospitals and health care institutes. The study is completed by the state examinations before the Board of the Faculty Experts. Graduates are awarded the academic title &#8220;Doctor of General Medicine&#8221;, abbreviated \u201cMUDr.\u201d (equivalent to M.D. degree) and \u201cDoctor of Dental Medicine\u201d, abbreviated \u201cMDDr.\u201d (equivalent to D.M.D.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In those professions where the conditions of education in Slovakia are identical with those in the European Union, which have already been recognized (medical and dental doctors), the member states of the European Union are obliged to accept the diplomas issued in Slovakia, irrespective of the language of instruction.<\/p>\n\n\n<style>.wp-block-kadence-spacer.kt-block-spacer-69420_98280b-76 .kt-block-spacer{height:30px;}.wp-block-kadence-spacer.kt-block-spacer-69420_98280b-76 .kt-divider{border-top-width:6px;border-top-color:#C92432;width:10%;border-top-style:dotted;}<\/style>\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-spacer aligncenter kt-block-spacer-69420_98280b-76\"><div class=\"kt-block-spacer kt-block-spacer-halign-center\"><hr class=\"kt-divider\"\/><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">GRADUATE OF GENERAL MEDICINE PROFILE<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The graduate of General Medicine has adequate theoretical knowledge of both theoretical, pre-clinical subjects, and clinical disciplines. In their practical training they will learn basic preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures. In their post-graduate education they become specialist in primary care and may attain qualifications to work as a physician in any medical specialism.&nbsp; The study of General Medicine lasts for 6 years and its graduates are awarded the degree of &#8220;Doctor of General Medicine&#8221; (MUDr.), which automatically entitles them to work not merely in any country of the European&nbsp; Union, but almost all the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">GRADUATE OF DENTAL MEDICINE PROFILE<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The graduate of Dental medicine has adequate theoretical knowledge of theoretical, pre-clinical, and clinical disciplines of Dental medicine. During practical exercises in the subjects of Dental medicine, they will learn basic preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures and will become qualified to independently perform basic practical procedures.
