The TIP-UPJŠ Centre for Interdisciplinary Biosciences invites Master’s and PhD students to a two-day workshop titled “AI in Science: Use It Wisely, Maintain Your Own Judgment.” The event will showcase practical ways to use artificial intelligence in studies and research, emphasizing critical thinking and academic integrity.

The workshop will be led by Dr. Richard Luke Daniels from The College of Idaho (USA), who is visiting UPJŠ under the Fulbright Specialist Program.

Participants will learn about using AI for literature searches, scientific writing, and the preparation of research projects. The program will also cover verifying AI outputs, transparently disclosing AI usage, and discussing ethical boundaries. The goal is to demonstrate how AI can support learning and research while allowing students to maintain their own authorial voice and independent judgment.

Dates and Venue

The workshop consists of two consecutive morning sessions:

Workshop Program:

First Morning | Sections 1 – 3

1. AI tools for research support: Crafting AI prompts and using AI for literature searches and research planning. Both sessions will take place at Jesenná 5, Košice, on the ground floor in room SJ0S15. The workshop will be conducted in English.

Registration and Contact

Workshop capacity is limited to 12 students.
