Its mission is to develop interdisciplinary links between medical science, technology and innovative approaches to treatment, diagnosis and regeneration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mission and vision:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CAM has the ambition to become a centre of excellence in applied biomedical research in Eastern Europe, with an emphasis on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>support for R&amp;D projects with clinical and societal impact,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>developing partnerships with hospitals, industry and international academic institutions,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>incubating innovations to accelerate the transfer of biomedical technologies into practice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Main directions of CAM research:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Regenerative and personalised medicine: development of new therapies using stem cells, biomaterials, genetic engineering and 3D bioprinting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experimental Pharmacology and Pharmacogenomics: Testing new drugs, their efficacy and toxicity in cellular and animal models, with an emphasis on a personalised approach to patients.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Molecular and Clinical Biochemistry: Identification and validation of new biomarkers, development of non-invasive diagnostic methods.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Translational research: Linking basic research to clinical application through prototype development, drug efficacy testing and setting the stage for clinical trials.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tissue engineering: Collaboration with a tissue bank to develop replacement tissues for orthopaedic, cardiac and surgical applications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CAM as an innovation accelerator:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Centre also provides a base for start-ups, spin-off companies and academic teams dedicated to the development of new therapeutic approaches.
