The results of their scientific and research activities can be found in high-quality monographs, text-books, chapters in scientific monographs, collections of conference papers, papers in scholarly and professional journals. The academic staff of the Department attempts to ensure the students have access to relevant textbooks and sources. This in turn helps to increase the quality of the teaching process. The members of the Department have been involved in several research projects as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>VEGA no. 1\/4610\/07 \u201cLegal Protection of Subjective Rights in the European territory\u201d, 01\/2007-12\/2009, principal investigator P. Voj\u010d\u00edk<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>VEGA no. 1\/0960\/11 \u201cEuropeanization of Civil Law after the Lisbon Treaty\u201d, 2007\/2009, principal investigator P. Voj\u010d\u00edk<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>VEGA no. 1\/0940\/14 \u201cRecodification of Private Law within the intentions of European Union Law\u201d, 01\/2014-12\/2016, principal investigator P. Voj\u010d\u00edk<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>VEGA no. 1\/0765\/20 \u201cProtection of Human Values in Private Law in the Context of Modern Trends and On- going Recodification of Private Law\u201d, 01\/2020-12\/2022, principal investigator P. Moln\u00e1r<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>VVGS-2016-326 \u201cThe position of the consumer in the new civil process (PCOV)\u201d, 03\/2017-02\/2018, principal investigator V. Fili\u010dko.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Within the scope of their research activities, the Department of Civil Law prepares and provides opinions for the Civil Division and Commercial Division of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic with regards to proposals for recitals in their decisions to be published in the Collection of decisions and opinions of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic. Furthermore, it also prepares opinions for the Civil Division of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic pursuant to \u00a7 48 subs 4 of the Civil Contentious Code of Procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Outstanding achievements of the members of the Department of Civil Law were also acknowledged not only by the Faculty and University academic officials but also by other institutions. Prof. JUDr. Peter Voj\u010d\u00edk, CSc. was honoured for the publication of his work \u201cIndustrial Property Law\u201c published in Bratislava in 1998 with the Slovak Literary Fund Award for the year 1999. The first prize in the publication competition of the journal Bulletin of the Slovak Advocacy in 2008 in the category of \u201cPrivate Law\u201d was awarded to JUDr. Milan Sudzina for his paper \u201cLegal aspects of Land Boundaries\u201d. On the 60<sup>th <\/sup>anniversary of the establishment of Pavol Jozef \u0160af\u00e1rik University, in Ko\u0161ice prof. JUDr. Peter Voj\u010d\u00edk, CSc. was honoured for his scientific work with the award of the Gold Medal of the University. Apart from publishing, the members of the Department of Civil Law have also presented the results of their academic research and expertise at various conferences and symposiums in Slovakia and abroad.
