In both areas of research, the Institute, considering the achievements in their research, ranks among the leading workplaces of their kind in the Slovak Republic. This is further demonstrated in their successful efforts to obtain funding for the projects in which the members of the Institute are involved, most successful projects are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Jean Monnet Teaching Module no. 2010-2016 \u201dRole of the Law in International Economic Integration \u2013 with a particular focus on the European Union\u201d, 09\/2010-08\/2013, principal investigator J. Klu\u010dka<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>APVV-0823-11 \u201dRegionalism and its Contribution to General International Law\u201d, 07\/2012-12\/2015, principal investigator J. Klu\u010dka<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>APVV-0814-12 \u201dBinding nature and Applicability of the Charter of the Fundamental Rights of the European Union in a Member State with regard to the Judicial Power in the Slovak Republic\u201d, 10\/2013-12\/2016, principal investigator J. Maz\u00e1k<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>APVV-18-0421 \u201dThe European Public Prosecutor&#8217;s Office in Connections of the Constitutional Order of the Slovak Republic as Strengthening of the European Integration through Law\u201d, 07\/2019-06\/2023, principal investigator M. J\u00e1no\u0161\u00edkov\u00e1<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>APVV-20-0576 \u201dGreen Ambitions for Sustainable Development (European Green Deal in the context of International and Municipal Law)\u201d, 08\/2021- 06\/2024, principal investigator J. Klu\u010dka<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>VEGA no. 1\/2558\/05 \u201dThe Influence of International and European Law on National Law of the Slovak Republic\u201d, 01\/2005-12\/2007, principal investigator G. Dobrovi\u010dov\u00e1<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>VEGA no. 1\/0709\/16 \u201dPlace and Significance of Regional Judicial Bodies Context of the Contemporary Regionalism\u201d, 01\/2016-12\/2018, principal investigator J. Klu\u010dka<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>VEGA no. 1\/0643\/20 \u201dLegal and Ethical Perspectives of Artificial Intelligence\u201d, 01\/2020-12\/2022, principal investigator J. Klu\u010dka.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Excellent achievements in scholarly research are corroborated by the involvement of the members of the Institute in non-academic professional activities which significantly contributed to their experience and expertise. Prof. JUDr. J\u00e1n Klu\u010dka, CSc. held the office of a judge of the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic during 1993-2004 and in the period 2004-2009 the position of a judge of the Court of Justice of the European Union. Prof. JUDr. J\u00e1n Maz\u00e1k, PhD. during 2000-2006 period presided over the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic and in 2006-2012 acted in the position of the Advocate General of the Court of Justice of the European Union. Prof. Maz\u00e1k currently holds the office of the President of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic. From 2008-2012, assoc. prof. JUDr. Martina J\u00e1no\u0161\u00edkov\u00e1, Ph.D. worked as a legal advisor at the Cabinet of the Advocate General at the Court of Justice of the European Union and at the present time cooperates with the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic as an external consultant. JUDr. Radoslav Benko, PhD. LL.M. has also been engaged by the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic as an external consultant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our doctoral students have also received several awards for their extraordinary merits. The Rector&#8217;s Award for significant scientific contribution was conferred upon Mgr. Lucia Bako\u0161ov\u00e1, PhD. in 2020 and upon JUDr. \u013duboslav Sis\u00e1k, PhD. in 2022; both success- fully represented the Faculty of Law at the Czechoslovak Round of Student Research and Professional Activity for Lawyers; JUDr. \u013duboslav Sis\u00e1k, PhD. won the third place in 2019 and Mgr. Lucia Bako\u0161ov\u00e1, PhD. earned the second place in 2020.
