Br\u00f6stl.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In respect of their professional and scholarly activities, several members of Gustav Radbruch Institute of Theory of Law were awarded numerous honours, recognitions and awards as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>prof. JUDr. Alexander Br\u00f6stl, CSc. \u2013 in 1975 the extraordinary Award of the Presidium of the Slovak Academy of Sciences for student scientific activity in the field of Humanities; in 2015 the Award of the Rector of Pavol Jozef \u0160af\u00e1rik University for significant scientific contribution in the field of Theory of State and Law in Slovakia, for significant scientific, translation, editorial activities and for dissemination of works of prominent world-famous legal philosophers among the Slovak professional community; in 2016 the Memorial medal of the Faculty of Law of Trnava University in Trnava for the contribution to the development of legal science and legal education in Slovakia and enhancement of good reputation of Trnava University in Trnava; in 2018 the honour of the President of the Slovak Republic \u2013 \u013dudov\u00edt \u0160t\u00far Order for outstanding merit in democracy and its development, human rights and freedom, and development of law; the award of the President of Ko\u0161ice Self-Governing Region for long-term contribution in the field of constitutional and international judiciary, development of education, development of political science, legal thinking and for human attitude in delivering knowledge to the next generation; in 2016 the Gold medal of Pavol Jozef \u0160af\u00e1rik University \u2013 UPJ\u0160 60<sup>th <\/sup>anniversary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>prof. JUDr. Gabriela Dobrovi\u010dov\u00e1, PhD. \u2013 the Memorial medal of the Faculty of Law of Comenius University in Bratislava for support and cooperation; the Gold medal of Pavol Jozef \u0160af\u00e1rik University in Ko\u0161ice for her personal contribution to the development of Pavol Jozef \u0160af\u00e1rik University in Ko\u0161ice; the Medal of Honour awarded by the General Director of the Prison and Court Guard Service of the Slovak Republic.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>prof. JUDr. Pavel Holl\u00e4nder, DrSc. \u2013 the honour of the President of the Slovak Republic \u2013 the Order of the White Double Cross for outstanding merit in human rights and freedoms, protection and development of law; the Medal of the First Grade awarded by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic for activities for the Accreditation Commission and contributions to higher education; the Silver Medal of Anton\u00edn Randa awarded by the Union of Czech lawyers (in 2005); authorship award at Karlovy Vary Law Days for the best law publication in 2005-2006; the award Lawyer of the Year 2009 of the Czech Republic in the field of \u201ccivil, human and constitutional rights\u201c; the award of the honorary degree of Doctor honoris causa bestowed by the Pan-European University in Bratislava upon professor Holl\u00e4nder as a prominent person whose long-term activities have contributed to legal education in the Slovak Republic and Czech Republic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The members of the Institute are also renowned for their outstanding qualities as academic officials in the management of the Law Faculty and University. Prof. A. Br\u00f6stl held the office of the Vice-Dean for Science and Research during 1991-1992, the office of the Dean of the Law Faculty in the period from 1994 to 1997 and from 2008 to 2011 the position of the Vice-Rector for International Relations and Legislation. Prof. G. Dobrovi\u010dov\u00e1 acted in the position of the Vice-Dean for Academic affairs from 2007 to 2011 and from 2011 to 2019 she held the office of the Dean of the Law Faculty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the formation of Gustav Radbruch Institute of Theory of Law, the Institute has regularly organized a series of \u201cRadbruch lectures\u201c presenting the most distinguished foreign scholars in the field of Theory of State and Law and Legal Philosophy. To the present day, the Institute has hosted jurists, such as prof. Robert Alexy, prof. Stanley Paulson, prof. Carsten B\u00e4cker and prof. Caesar Landa. The Institute also organizes conferences of the Slovak section of IVR before the IVR World Congress. The first Slovak section conference entitled \u201cDignity, Democracy, Diversity\u201c was held on 16 May 2019 and the second conference of the Slovak section of IVR conference on \u201cJustice, Community and Freedom\u201c was convened by the Institute on 19 May 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2012, the Institute in cooperation with the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law and the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic co-organizes the international scientific conference \u201cConstitutional Days\u201c. In the past, the Institute was also involved in the organization of a series of lectures of foreign legal scholars, which also included the presentation of the Slovak translation of the book \u201cJudge in Democracy\u201c by Aharon Barak and the lecture of prof. Dr. Clemens Jabloner, the Director of the Hans Kelsen Institute in Wien, with the presentation of the Slovak translation of the work of Hans Kelsen \u201cPure theory of law\u201c, the lecture of Robert Alexy on the Slovak edition of the book \u201cThe concept and the nature of law\u201c, or the lecture of John Finnis presenting the translation of the book \u201cNatu- ral law and natural rights\u201c into the Slovak language. Prof. JUDr. Alexander Br\u00f6stl, CSc. and prof. JUDr. Pavel Holl\u00e4nder, DrSc. deserve an outstanding merit for their work on translations, editorial works and publications of the above-mentioned books and of many more in the edition of Exempla Iuris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gustav Radbruch Institute of Theory of Law actively cooperates with the Law Faculty of Comenius University in Bratislava and the Law Faculty of Trnava University in Trnava.
