Citizens of EU\/EEC\/Switzerland can stay<\/strong> in the Slovak Republic for a period LONGER than 90 days<\/strong><\/span> under the following conditions<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. If you register at the Office of Foreign Police,\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. If you can provide proof for the reason of stay:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>\n
      \n
    1. In case of studying, you need to get a confirmation paper from the study department\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n
    2. In case of research\/employment\/post-doc you need to provide an original of your employment contract\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n
    3. In case of Grant\/Scholarship\/Erasmus you need to ask for a confirmation letter from DEA\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    4. If you have the means to support yourself<\/strong> (240EUR\/month x Number of months youll be staying), proof<\/strong> of this:\u00a0\n
        \n
      1. Through a bank statement showing sufficient amounts of money,\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n
      2. Through showing Cash,\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n
      3. Through a written and Notary certified Affidavitt\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        In some cases it may be advisable to ask<\/strong>, while registering, to be issued a Residence Card<\/strong> (\u201cPobytov\u00fd preukaz ob\u010dana E\u00da\u201d). This card<\/strong> is NOT MANDATORY<\/strong><\/span> by law<\/strong>, but may be required by some financial institutions, insurance companies and other PRIVATE<\/strong><\/span> subjects. IF you wish to get this card, you will also need, BESIDES <\/span>the above mentioned, to provide<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/p>\n

        1. Proof of Accomodation:\u00a0<\/strong>\n
            \n
          1. If you are living in a dormitory\/ student hostel, they shall provide you with one<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/li>\n
          2. If you are living in a rented flat<\/strong>, you will require a lease contract<\/strong> in your name (as the tenant), with the CERTIFIED signature of EVERY owner<\/strong> (some flats may be owned by 2 or even more people) AND<\/strong><\/span> a proof of ownership<\/strong> (\u201cList Vlastnictva\u201d) from the Property Registrar Office<\/strong> (Cadaster, in Slovak \u201cKataster Nehnute\u013enost\u00ed\u201d). The proof<\/strong> can be obtained at a post office<\/strong>, for a fee of 8 Euros<\/strong>. The certification of signatures<\/strong>, can be done at Municipality offices<\/strong>, for a fee of around 2 EUR\/ signature<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
          3. 2 photos of your current look, 3×3,5 cm<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            The card will be issued within 30 days<\/strong>, and can be valid<\/strong> for up to 5 years<\/strong> (but is only up to the date, which you can prove that you will be still in Slovakia).\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
