V polovici p\u00e4\u0165desiatych rokov minul\u00e9ho storo\u010dia pri\u0161li do Ko\u0161\u00edc viacer\u00ed absolventi Univerzity Komensk\u00e9ho v Bratislave a Karlovej univerzity v Prahe. Jedn\u00fdm z prv\u00fdch bol absolvent Pr\u00edrodovedeckej fakulty Univerzity Komensk\u00e9ho Robert Hon\u010dariv (1931 \u2013 2021), ktor\u00fd tr\u00e1vil \u010das\u0165 svojho \u0161t\u00fadia v Prahe na Karlovej univerzite. Spolu s n\u00edm pri\u0161lo do Ko\u0161\u00edc aj nieko\u013eko absolventov Karlovej Univerzity v Prahe, ktor\u00ed sa v botanickej z\u00e1hrade SAV (teraz UPJ\u0160) venovali jednak v\u00fdskumu rias a jednak participovali na v\u00fdskume \u00fa\u010dinkov ionizuj\u00faceho \u017eiarenia a jeho vyu\u017eitia v \u0161\u013eachten\u00ed rastl\u00edn. Pribli\u017ene v tom istom \u010dase, v roku 1957, pri\u0161iel do Ko\u0161\u00edc z Biofyzik\u00e1lneho \u00fastavu \u010cSAV v Brne Milan Prasli\u010dka (1923 \u2013 1985), ktor\u00fd bol presved\u010den\u00fd o nevyhnutnosti a potrebe zalo\u017eenia r\u00e1diobiologick\u00e9ho pracoviska. S\u00fahra okolnost\u00ed a odborn\u00edkov prispela k tomu, \u017ee pr\u00e1ve v Ko\u0161iciach bolo ako prv\u00e9 v \u010ceskoslovensku vybudovan\u00e9 pracovisko so zdrojmi \u017eiarenia (chronick\u00fd \u017eiari\u010d v botanickej z\u00e1hrade SAV a \u010doskoro aj otvoren\u00e9 o\u017earovacie zariadenie v bl\u00edzkosti letiska \u2013 tzv. gama pole) na v\u00fdskum biologick\u00fdch \u00fa\u010dinkov chronick\u00e9ho \u017eiarenia na rastliny a \u017eivo\u010d\u00edchy. V \u0161ir\u0161om medzin\u00e1rodnom kontexte m\u00f4\u017eeme h\u013eada\u0165 korene tohto zamerania vo vedeckej \u0161kole Thomasa Hunta Morgana (1866 \u2013 1945) a zvl\u00e1\u0161\u0165 jeho doktoranda Hermanna Josepha Mullera (1890 \u2013 1967), ktor\u00fd sa v\u00fdznamne zasl\u00fa\u017eil o rozvoj poznania vyu\u017eit\u00edm r\u00e1dioakt\u00edvneho \u017eiarenia na indukciu mut\u00e1ci\u00ed v \u017eiv\u00fdch syst\u00e9moch, za \u010do rok po Morganovej smrti z\u00edskal Nobelovu cenu. Pod veden\u00edm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upjs.sk\/prirodovedecka-fakulta\/fakulta\/historia-fakulty\/galeria-osobnosti\/#prof-Praslicka\">doc. MUDr. Milana Prasli\u010dku, CSc.<\/a>, ktor\u00fd bol \u017eiakom brnianskeho priekopn\u00edka biofyziky a zakladate\u013ea r\u00e1diobiol\u00f3gie v \u010ceskoslovensku profesora Ferdinanda Her\u010d\u00edka, bolo vybudovan\u00e9 zariadenie s in\u0161talovan\u00fdm zdrojom kontinu\u00e1lneho gama \u017eiarenia (spom\u00ednan\u00e9 gama pole pri ko\u0161ickom letisku), \u010d\u00edm sa vytvorili podmienky pre v\u00fdskum \u00fa\u010dinkov chronick\u00e9ho \u017eiarenia na \u017eivo\u010d\u00edchy a rastliny. Prv\u00ed absolventi jednoodborov\u00e9ho \u0161t\u00fadia biol\u00f3gie i u\u010dite\u013eskej aprob\u00e1cie biol\u00f3gia \u2013 ch\u00e9mia opustili br\u00e1ny univerzity v roku 1967. Katedra biol\u00f3gie sa postupne rozrastala, roz\u0161iroval sa po\u010det pracovn\u00edkov, predn\u00e1\u0161an\u00fdch discipl\u00edn aj \u0161\u00edrka v\u00fdskumn\u00e9ho z\u00e1beru, \u010do viedlo v roku 1968 k rozdeleniu katedry biol\u00f3gie na katedru v\u0161eobecnej biol\u00f3gie veden\u00fa prof. MUDr. Milanom Prasli\u010dkom, DrSc., v are\u00e1li na \u0160rob\u00e1rovej ulici v&nbsp;budove r\u00e1diobiologick\u00e9ho pavil\u00f3nu (RBL) a katedru botaniky a genetiky veden\u00fa doc. RNDr. Robertom Hon\u010darivom, CSc., ktor\u00e1 sa u\u017e o rok nesk\u00f4r, v roku 1969, rozdelila na katedru botaniky veden\u00fa doc. RNDr. Jozefom R\u00e1czom, a katedru genetiky pod veden\u00edm doc. RNDr. Roberta Hon\u010dariva, CSc. Pribudla k nim aj katedra ekologickej a systematickej zool\u00f3gie, na ktorej \u010dele st\u00e1l doc. RNDr. Ivan Zmoray, DrSc. Tieto katedry s\u00eddlili v budove botanickej z\u00e1hrady UPJ\u0160 na M\u00e1nesovej ulici. Existencia t\u00fdchto troch katedier trvala len nieko\u013eko rokov. V roku 1972 sa zl\u00fa\u010dili do jednej s n\u00e1zvom Katedra \u0161peci\u00e1lnej biol\u00f3gie a viedol ju doc. RNDr. Robert Hon\u010dariv, CSc. Biologick\u00fd v\u00fdskum na dvoch katedr\u00e1ch, katedre v\u0161eobecnej biol\u00f3gie a katedre \u0161peci\u00e1lnej biol\u00f3gie, sa postupne orientoval viacer\u00fdmi smermi. V oblasti popula\u010dnej genetiky sa realizoval v\u00fdskum s\u00e9roantropologick\u00fdch znakov r\u00f3mskeho etnika na v\u00fdchodnom Slovensku. Zoologick\u00fd v\u00fdskum bol orientovan\u00fd predov\u0161etk\u00fdm na druhov\u00fa diverzitu batrachofauny a malakofauny. Pracovn\u00edci v botanickom v\u00fdskume pokra\u010dovali v \u0161t\u00fadiu cytogenetick\u00fdch zmien rastl\u00edn indukovan\u00fdch chronick\u00fdm o\u017earovan\u00edm gama l\u00fa\u010dmi a nesk\u00f4r sa za\u010dal rozv\u00edja\u0165 v\u00fdskum lie\u010div\u00fdch rastl\u00edn a pr\u00edrodn\u00fdch l\u00e1tok orientovan\u00fd predov\u0161etk\u00fdm na \u0161t\u00fadium obsahu \u00fa\u010dinn\u00fdch l\u00e1tok a \u0161\u013eachtenie nov\u00fdch odr\u00f4d lie\u010div\u00fdch rastl\u00edn. Za\u010diatkom osemdesiatych rokov sa za\u010dal budova\u0165 nov\u00fd smer rastlinn\u00fdch biotechnol\u00f3gi\u00ed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Po smrti akademika Prasli\u010dku v roku 1985 prevzala vedenie katedry v\u0161eobecnej biol\u00f3gie doc. RNDr. Eva Mi\u0161\u00farov\u00e1, CSc. Koncom osemdesiatych rokov minul\u00e9ho storo\u010dia, podobne ako v rokoch 1968 \u2013 69, ovplyvnili spolo\u010densk\u00e9 zmeny aj \u017eivot na biologick\u00fdch pracovisk\u00e1ch a op\u00e4\u0165 podnietili snahy o zmenu \u0161trukt\u00fary. Z\u00e1sadne to ovplyvnilo katedru v\u0161eobecnej biol\u00f3gie, ktor\u00e1 sa rozdelila na tri pracovisk\u00e1 \u2013 katedru bunkovej a molekul\u00e1rnej biol\u00f3gie, ktor\u00fa viedla docentka Eva Mi\u0161\u00farov\u00e1, katedru antropol\u00f3gie a zool\u00f3gie pod veden\u00edm docenta Ivana Bernasovsk\u00e9ho (od roku 1999 katedra zool\u00f3gie a ekol\u00f3gie pod veden\u00edm docenta Igora Hudeca) a katedru fyziol\u00f3gie \u017eivo\u010d\u00edchov a \u010dloveka pod veden\u00edm profesora Ivana Ahlersa, zatia\u013e \u010do katedra \u0161peci\u00e1lnej biol\u00f3gie sa len premenovala na katedru experiment\u00e1lnej botaniky a genetiky a v prv\u00fdch rokoch ju viedol RNDr. Peter \u010cernaj, CSc. Po jeho pred\u010dasnom odchode v roku 1994 sa stala ved\u00facou katedry Ing. Anna Mackov\u00e1, CSc., a od roku 1998 viedla katedru docentka Eva \u010cell\u00e1rov\u00e1. V&nbsp;tom istom roku do\u0161lo aj k&nbsp;zmene ved\u00facich katedier na katedre bunkovej a molekul\u00e1rnej biol\u00f3gie, ktor\u00fa viedol docent Peter Fedoro\u010dko, a katedre fyziol\u00f3gie \u017eivo\u010d\u00edchov a&nbsp;\u010dloveka pod veden\u00edm docenta Be\u0148adika \u0160majdu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">V priebehu dev\u00e4\u0165desiatych rokov nastal postupn\u00fd odklon v\u00fdskumu od dominuj\u00facej a tradi\u010dnej r\u00e1diobiologickej orient\u00e1cie. Na za\u010diatku tohto mil\u00e9nia sa postupne za\u010dal formova\u0165 t\u00edm zaoberaj\u00faci sa \u0161t\u00fadiom pr\u00edrodn\u00fdch zdrojov lie\u010div s protin\u00e1dorovou aktivitou a&nbsp;komplement\u00e1rny t\u00edm sk\u00famaj\u00faci predov\u0161etk\u00fdm cytotoxick\u00e9 a&nbsp;protin\u00e1dorov\u00e9 vlastnosti r\u00f4znych pr\u00edrodn\u00fdch, ale aj syntetick\u00fdch prepar\u00e1tov. Zoologick\u00fd v\u00fdskum bol zameran\u00fd na \u0161t\u00fadium p\u00f4dneho, terestrick\u00e9ho a vodn\u00e9ho prostredia vo vz\u0165ahu k niektor\u00fdm jeho abiotick\u00fdm faktorom. Aplikovan\u00fd v\u00fdskum lie\u010div\u00fdch rastl\u00edn sa v tomto obdob\u00ed orientoval na zabezpe\u010denie surovinovej z\u00e1kladne pre dom\u00e1ce a niektor\u00e9 zahrani\u010dn\u00e9 farmaceutick\u00e9 podniky (introdukcia nov\u00fdch druhov do pestovania, novo\u0161\u013eachtenie a udr\u017eiavacie \u0161\u013eachtenie, \u00fa\u010das\u0165 vo v\u00fdskume spracovate\u013esk\u00fdch technol\u00f3gi\u00ed). V\u00fdskum v botanike smeroval najm\u00e4 k taxonomick\u00e9mu \u0161t\u00fadiu rodov Thymus a Hypericum, ich reproduk\u010dn\u00fdch sp\u00f4sobov a chemotaxon\u00f3mii, ale aj \u010fal\u0161\u00edm probl\u00e9mom cievnat\u00fdch rastl\u00edn (\u00fa\u010das\u0165 na spracovan\u00ed fl\u00f3ry Slovenska). Z\u00e1kladn\u00fd v\u00fdskum vo fyziol\u00f3gii rastl\u00edn sa zameriaval na \u0161t\u00fadium sekund\u00e1rneho metabolizmu lie\u010div\u00fdch rastl\u00edn. Ekofyziol\u00f3gia bola zast\u00fapen\u00e1 v\u00fdskumom vplyvu toxick\u00fdch kovov na metabolizmus rastl\u00edn a li\u0161ajn\u00edkov.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Definit\u00edvnym koncom r\u00e1diobiologick\u00e9ho v\u00fdskumu v&nbsp;Ko\u0161iciach po takmer \u0161tyridsa\u0165ro\u010dnej trad\u00edcii ko\u0161ickej \u0161koly r\u00e1diobiol\u00f3gie sa stal december v&nbsp;roku 2000, ke\u010f v&nbsp;d\u00f4sledku rast\u00facich n\u00e1kladov za pren\u00e1jom pozemkov gama po\u013ea prijala univerzita rozhodnutie o&nbsp;zru\u0161en\u00ed tohto pren\u00e1jmu, n\u00e1slednej likvid\u00e1cii experiment\u00e1lneho gama po\u013ea a&nbsp;odovzdan\u00ed pozemkov re\u0161tituentom. I napriek tomu, \u017ee pracovisko na\u010falej disponovalo uzavret\u00fdm zdrojom kobaltov\u00e9ho gama \u017eiari\u010da (tzv. Chisostatu), ktor\u00fd bol umiestnen\u00fd v&nbsp;suter\u00e9nnych priestoroch r\u00e1diobiologick\u00e9ho pavil\u00f3nu, sa r\u00e1diobiologick\u00fd v\u00fdskum u\u017e nepodarilo vzkriesi\u0165. \u017divotnos\u0165 Chisostatu umelo predl\u017eovali vysok\u00e9 n\u00e1klady na jeho likvid\u00e1ciu a&nbsp;len v\u010faka tomu Chisostat \u201epre\u017eil\u201c gama pole o&nbsp;dlh\u00fdch 19 rokov.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Potreba zefekt\u00edvnenia vzdel\u00e1vacieho procesu a lep\u0161ej koordin\u00e1cie vedeck\u00e9ho v\u00fdskumu viedli v roku 2002 k vytvoreniu novej organiza\u010dnej \u0161trukt\u00fary fakulty, ktorej s\u00fa\u010das\u0165ou bola integr\u00e1cia biologick\u00fdch pracov\u00edsk do \u00fastavu biologick\u00fdch a ekologick\u00fdch vied. Jeho prv\u00fdm riadite\u013eom na z\u00e1klade v\u00fdberov\u00e9ho konania sa stal doc. RNDr. Peter Fedoro\u010dko, CSc. (od 2002 do 2015). Vn\u00fatorn\u00fa \u0161trukt\u00faru \u00fastavu tvorili akademick\u00e9 pracovisk\u00e1 \u00fastavu: katedra botaniky (ved\u00faci docent Miroslav Rep\u010d\u00e1k, nesk\u00f4r profesor Pavol M\u00e1rtonfi; profesor Martin Ba\u010dkor), katedra bunkovej biol\u00f3gie (docentka Zuzana Daxnerov\u00e1), katedra fyziol\u00f3gie \u017eivo\u010d\u00edchov (docent Be\u0148adik \u0160majda), katedra genetiky (profesorka Eva \u010cell\u00e1rov\u00e1), katedra zool\u00f3gie (docent Igor Hudec, nesk\u00f4r profesor \u013dubom\u00edr Kov\u00e1\u010d), oddelenie didaktiky biol\u00f3gie (docentka Katar\u00edna Kim\u00e1kov\u00e1, nesk\u00f4r doktorka Andrea Le\u0161kov\u00e1) a laborat\u00f3rium molekul\u00e1rno-biologickej diagnostiky (docent Peter Fedoro\u010dko). Koncepcia v\u00fdskumu kl\u00e1dla na prelome tis\u00edcro\u010d\u00ed d\u00f4raz na rozvoj dvoch z\u00e1kladn\u00fdch smerov \u2013 biomedic\u00ednskeho, reprezentovan\u00e9ho t\u00edmami katedier bunkovej biol\u00f3gie, genetiky a \u010dasti katedry fyziol\u00f3gie \u017eivo\u010d\u00edchov a ekologick\u00e9ho reprezentovan\u00e9ho najm\u00e4 katedrami zool\u00f3gie a botaniky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">\u00dastav biologick\u00fdch a ekologick\u00fdch vied v&nbsp;prv\u00fdch dvoch desa\u0165ro\u010diach tohto storo\u010dia garantoval bakal\u00e1rske, magistersk\u00e9 a&nbsp;doktorandsk\u00e9 \u0161t\u00fadium v&nbsp;dvoch \u0161tudijn\u00fdch odboroch, v&nbsp;odbore biol\u00f3gia a&nbsp;v&nbsp;odbore v\u0161eobecn\u00e1 ekol\u00f3gia a ekol\u00f3gia jedinca a&nbsp;popul\u00e1ci\u00ed. Na bakal\u00e1rskom stupni zabezpe\u010doval v\u00fdu\u010dbu aj v&nbsp;\u0161tudijnom programe medziodborov\u00e9 \u0161t\u00fadium biol\u00f3gie a na magisterskom stupni v \u0161tyroch jednoodborov\u00fdch magistersk\u00fdch \u0161tudijn\u00fdch programoch genetika a molekul\u00e1rna cytol\u00f3gia, zool\u00f3gia a fyziol\u00f3gia \u017eivo\u010d\u00edchov, botanika a fyziol\u00f3gia rastl\u00edn, v\u0161eobecn\u00e1 ekol\u00f3gia a ekol\u00f3gia jedinca a popul\u00e1ci\u00ed a u\u010dite\u013estva akademick\u00e9ho predmetu biol\u00f3gia. Biol\u00f3gia sa \u0161tudovala v kombin\u00e1cii s ostatn\u00fdmi pr\u00edrodn\u00fdmi vedami \u2013 fyzikou, ch\u00e9miou geografiou a tie\u017e matematikou a informatikou, resp. s niektor\u00fdm z odborov, v ktor\u00fdch poskytovala vzdel\u00e1vanie Filozofick\u00e1 fakulta UPJ\u0160 v Ko\u0161iciach. \u00dastav mal akreditovan\u00e9 doktorandsk\u00e9 \u0161t\u00fadium v odboroch genetika, fyziol\u00f3gia rastl\u00edn, fyziol\u00f3gia \u017eivo\u010d\u00edchov, molekul\u00e1rna cytol\u00f3gia a v\u0161eobecn\u00e1 ekol\u00f3gia a ekol\u00f3gia jedinca a popul\u00e1ci\u00ed. Siln\u00e9 person\u00e1lne zlo\u017eenie \u00fastavu umo\u017e\u0148ovalo v&nbsp;tomto obdob\u00ed garantova\u0165 habilita\u010dn\u00e9 a&nbsp;inaugura\u010dn\u00e9 konanie v&nbsp;piatich odboroch, a&nbsp;to v odbore biol\u00f3gia, fyziol\u00f3gia rastl\u00edn, fyziol\u00f3gia \u017eivo\u010d\u00edchov, genetika a&nbsp;v&nbsp;odbore v\u0161eobecn\u00e1 ekol\u00f3gia a ekol\u00f3gia jedinca a popul\u00e1ci\u00ed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">K v\u00fdrazn\u00e9mu skvalitneniu pr\u00edstrojovej infra\u0161trukt\u00fary \u00fastavu biologick\u00fdch a ekologick\u00fdch vied a celkovej prestavbe v\u00fdskumn\u00fdch laborat\u00f3ri\u00ed do\u0161lo hlavne po roku 2002, ke\u010f sa otvorili mo\u017enosti pod\u00e1vania projektov na vytv\u00e1ranie centier excelentnosti najsk\u00f4r na z\u00e1klade v\u00fdzvy APVV VVCE a n\u00e1sledne od roku 2007 aj na \u010derpanie finan\u010dn\u00fdch prostriedkov zo \u0161truktur\u00e1lnych fondov E\u00da. Tak postupne na \u00fastave p\u00f4sobili centra excelentnosti: centrum pre v\u00fdskum signal\u00f3mu (APVV VVCE), sie\u0165 excelentn\u00fdch pracov\u00edsk pre onkol\u00f3giu (\u0160F E\u00da) a&nbsp;SEPO II \u2013 budovanie infra\u0161trukt\u00fary v&nbsp;centre excelentnosti SEPO (\u0160F E\u00da).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Po\u010das komplexnej stavebnej rekon\u0161trukcie r\u00e1diobiologick\u00e9ho pavil\u00f3nu v&nbsp;rokoch 2004 a&nbsp;2005 sa podarilo vyrie\u0161i\u0165 dlh\u00e9 roky pretrv\u00e1vaj\u00faci probl\u00e9m s&nbsp;kapacitn\u00fdmi mo\u017enos\u0165ami \u0161kolsk\u00fdch laborat\u00f3ri\u00ed a&nbsp;predn\u00e1\u0161kov\u00fdch miestnost\u00ed a&nbsp;n\u00e1sledne po roku 2007 aj s&nbsp;ich zastaran\u00fdm materi\u00e1lno-technick\u00fdm vybaven\u00edm najm\u00e4 zo zdrojov \u0161truktur\u00e1lnych fondov E\u00da zameran\u00fdch na inov\u00e1cie vo vzdel\u00e1vacom procese. V&nbsp;tomto obdob\u00ed pribudli nov\u00e9 v\u00fdu\u010dbov\u00e9 priestory, ako je cvi\u010deb\u0148a RBL2 (prestavbou p\u00f4vodn\u00fdch priestorov r\u00e1dioakt\u00edvneho zverinca, ktor\u00fd v\u0161ak nikdy nebol uveden\u00fd do&nbsp;akt\u00edvnej prev\u00e1dzky), posluch\u00e1re\u0148 RBL4 (z p\u00f4vodn\u00fdch administrat\u00edvnych priestorov), mikrobiologick\u00e9 laborat\u00f3rium RBL 7 (prestavbou \u010dasti nevyu\u017e\u00edvan\u00fdch priestorov zverinca) a&nbsp;RBL8 \u2013 po\u010d\u00edta\u010dov\u00e1 u\u010deb\u0148a zriaden\u00e1 vo vestibule pavil\u00f3nu. Ostatn\u00e9 laborat\u00f3ri\u00e1 a&nbsp;u\u010debne v RBL pavil\u00f3ne a&nbsp;v&nbsp;botanickej z\u00e1hrade pre\u0161li takisto v\u00fdraznou humaniz\u00e1ciou a&nbsp;moderniz\u00e1ciou priestorov a&nbsp;boli vybaven\u00e9 novou v\u00fdu\u010dbovou infra\u0161trukt\u00farou.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Na z\u00e1klade dopytu zamestn\u00e1vate\u013eov po absolventoch biol\u00f3gie so \u0161ir\u0161\u00edmi vedomos\u0165ami a&nbsp;praktick\u00fdmi zru\u010dnos\u0165ami z&nbsp;mikrobiologick\u00fdch discipl\u00edn a&nbsp;hlavne po pr\u00edchode doc. RNDr. Petra Prista\u0161a, CSc., na \u00fastav biologick\u00fdch a ekologick\u00fdch vied sa vytvorili aj person\u00e1lne predpoklady na&nbsp;vznik katedry mikrobiol\u00f3gie, ktor\u00e1 sa v&nbsp;roku 2015 stala najmlad\u0161ou z&nbsp;akademick\u00fdch pracov\u00edsk \u00fastavu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">V&nbsp;janu\u00e1ri 2016, po vymenovan\u00ed profesora Petra Fedoro\u010dka prorektorom univerzity, bola veden\u00edm \u00fastavu poveren\u00e1 docentka Zuzana Daxnerov\u00e1. Na z\u00e1klade v\u00fdberov\u00e9ho konania sa druh\u00fdm riadite\u013eom \u00fastavu stal doc. RNDr. Peter Prista\u0161, CSc., (od j\u00fala 2016 do okt\u00f3bra 2024). Po s\u00fahlasnom stanovisku rady \u00fastavu sa v&nbsp;roku 2024 premenovala katedra botaniky na katedru biol\u00f3gie rastl\u00edn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>V&nbsp;s\u00fa\u010dasnosti sa na \u00fastave rozv\u00edja nieko\u013eko <strong>v\u00fdskumn\u00fdch smerov<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">V\u00fdskum v&nbsp;oblasti <strong><em>experiment\u00e1lnej onkol\u00f3gie<\/em><\/strong> je zameran\u00fd na sk\u00famanie vplyvu pr\u00edrodn\u00fdch l\u00e1tok, ak\u00fdmi s\u00fa hyperic\u00edn a skyr\u00edn na angiogen\u00e9zu a vlastnosti n\u00e1dorov\u00fdch buniek v\u0161eobecne, ako aj na v\u00fdskyt tzv. kme\u0148ov\u00fdch buniek n\u00e1dorov, a to v podmienkach <em>in vitro<\/em> a <em>ex ovo<\/em> a&nbsp;na \u0161t\u00fadium vplyvu polymorfizmu transportn\u00e9ho prote\u00ednu BCRP a hypoxie na akumul\u00e1ciu a \u00fa\u010dinok hyperic\u00ednu na n\u00e1dorov\u00e9 bunky, ako aj mo\u017enos\u0165ami uplatnenia r\u00f4znych funk\u010dn\u00fdch molek\u00fal RNA (aptam\u00e9ry, siRNA) v personalizovanej onkomedic\u00edne. \u010eal\u0161\u00edm onkologick\u00fdm zameran\u00edm je vyu\u017eitie prirodzen\u00fdch a syntetick\u00fdch l\u00e1tok v prevencii mam\u00e1rnej karcinogen\u00e9zy <em>in vivo<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\"><strong><em>Genetick\u00fd v\u00fdskum<\/em><\/strong> je zameran\u00fd na identifik\u00e1ciu kandid\u00e1tnych g\u00e9nov s&nbsp;potenci\u00e1lnou funkciou v&nbsp;biosynt\u00e9ze bioakt\u00edvnych l\u00e1tok, predov\u0161etk\u00fdm zo skupiny antrachin\u00f3nov (hyperic\u00edn, skyr\u00edn, emod\u00edn), vo vybran\u00fdch z\u00e1stupcoch rodu <em>Hypericum<\/em> a&nbsp;symbiotick\u00fdch fung\u00e1lnych endofytoch pomocou OMICs a&nbsp;bioinformatick\u00fdch pr\u00edstupov a&nbsp;ich funk\u010dn\u00fa valid\u00e1ciu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">V\u00fdskum v&nbsp;oblasti <strong><em>neurobiol\u00f3gie<\/em><\/strong> sa zameriava na procesy prebiehaj\u00face po\u010das v\u00fdvinu miechy, najm\u00e4 v poslednej f\u00e1ze intrauterinn\u00e9ho v\u00fdvinu a po naroden\u00ed, s d\u00f4razom na procesy, ktor\u00e9 prebiehaj\u00fa vo v\u00fdstelke centr\u00e1lneho kan\u00e1la v intaktnom organizme a po poranen\u00ed miechy. Mapuje prolifer\u00e1ciu, diferenci\u00e1ciu a regenera\u010dn\u00fa kapacitu buniek miechov\u00e9ho kan\u00e1la a jeho okolia s mo\u017enos\u0165ou ovplyvnenia ich regenera\u010dnej schopnosti.
