Zalo\u017eenie katedry bioch\u00e9mie, jej materi\u00e1lnotechnick\u00e9, person\u00e1lne a koncep\u010dn\u00e9 zabezpe\u010denie bolo z\u00e1kladom toho, \u017ee bioch\u00e9mia na pr\u00edrodovedeckej fakulte dosahuje dnes vo vedeckej \u010dinnosti a v \u00faspe\u0161nosti absolventov v\u00fdznamn\u00e9 v\u00fdsledky. \nZistenie, \u017ee trans-mastn\u00e9 kyseliny u kvasiniek sa dok\u00e1\u017eu len \u010diasto\u010dne odbur\u00e1va\u0165 patr\u00ed do jeho \u0161tudentskej diplomovej pr\u00e1ce m\u00e1 dodnes charakter objavu a bolo mot\u00edvom pre jeho pr\u00e1cu vo vede. V prostred\u00ed klinick\u00e9ho laborat\u00f3ria zaviedol stanovenie steroidn\u00fdch horm\u00f3nov pomocou plynovej chromatografie. T\u00e1to met\u00f3da sa v \u010cSR pou\u017e\u00edla po prv\u00fdkr\u00e1t. Biochemick\u00e9 laborat\u00f3rne met\u00f3dy ako napr. anal\u00fdzy aminokysel\u00edn, peptidov chromatografie prote\u00ednov boli predmetom v\u00fdskumu a v\u00fdsledky sa publikovali v renomovan\u00fdch \u010dasopisoch. Hlavn\u00e9 zameranie biochemick\u00e9ho v\u00fdskumu bolo na \u0161t\u00fadium reakci\u00ed SH aminokysel\u00edn a peptidov s izotiokyan\u00e1tmi a in\u00fdmi SH \u010dinidlami. \u0160t\u00fadiom kinet\u00edk t\u00fdchto reakcii a anal\u00fdzou produktov sa objasnil mechanizmus reakci\u00ed s cyste\u00ednom, glutati\u00f3nom a niektor\u00fdmi prote\u00ednmi. Dosiahnut\u00e9 v\u00fdsledky s\u00fa d\u00f4le\u017eit\u00e9 pri \u0161t\u00fadiu SH skup\u00edn v akt\u00edvnych centr\u00e1ch enz\u00fdmov. N-trikyanovinylam\u00edny sa uk\u00e1zali ako SH \u010dinidl\u00e1 a l\u00e1tky s ovplyv\u0148uj\u00face oxida\u010dn\u00fa fosforyl\u00e1ciu mitochondri\u00ed.
