In cooperation with the Mining Museum in Rožňava and the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice (UVLF), we invite you to the exhibition AUTUMN FRUITS AND THE DIVERSE WORLD OF MUSHROOMS, which will take place from 19 September to 5 October, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
At the exhibition, visitors will see many varieties of traditional and lesser-known vegetables, including tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, pumpkins and others, as well as various fruits of botanical tree species, conifer cones, etc.
THE EXHIBITION WILL INCLUDE MUSHROOM MODELS by the famous pharmacist and mycologist, PhMr. Karel Voneš, loaned from the collections of the Mining Museum in Rožňava. The models represent real-life sized mushrooms, allowing visitors to learn about protected and endangered species, mushrooms growing in different locations, in deciduous or coniferous forests, as well as medicinal and poisonous mushrooms.
The exhibition program will be enriched by lectures that will take place on Saturday, 20 September:
9:15 a.m.- Norbert Mogyorósi (Mining Museum in Rožňava) – Karel Voneš and his mushroom models in the collections of the Mining Museum in Rožňava
9:45 a.m. – Miriam Bačkorová (Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmacognosy and Botany, UVLF) – Medicinal mushrooms: Natural power for our health. The secret of medicinal mushrooms
11:00 a.m. – webinar – Alena Klíčová (Symbiom s.r.o.) – Mycorrhizal fungi and their use in the garden
1:00 p.m. – workshop on making a plant terrarium Element led by Peter Mrva (reservation required)
