Pavol Jozef Šafárik University is a statutory and self-governing institution. The organisation and activities of the University are determined by the bodies of self-government to the extent provided by the law on higher education. The scope of self-government includes internal organisation, determination of the number of applicants admitted to studies, conditions of admission to studies and decision-making in the admission procedure, design and implementation of study programmes, organisation of studies, decision-making in issues concerning student academic rights and duties, objectives of research, development, artistic or other creative activities and their organisation, co-operation with other higher education institutions, legal entities, this also with foreigners, and other issues.
