Environmental determinants and drivers in physical activity research

Professional profile:
For the past 15 years, he has been co-working on research projects focused primarily on physical activity and built environment in populations ranging from young children to older adults. Between 2006–2014 he was responsible for the organization, preparation and implementation of research surveys nationwide following the international protocol within the IPEN Group (IPEN: International research on built environment, physical activity and obesity; and IPEN Adolescent, funded by the National Institutes of Health, USA). The research team at Palacký University leads in the Czech Republic in examining the role of built and social environments in physical activity and obesity. He participated in the Strategic Development Plan of the City of Olomouc for 2017–2023. He is a member of the Czech Society of Kinanthropology and international research networks: IPAQ, IPEN, ISPAH, and ISBNPA. Since 2015, he is co-chair of the working group Environmental approaches to HEPA promotion in the HEPA Europe network and the contact person for the Czech Republic for the WHO Global Observatory for Physical Activity Country Cards.
