1minút, 58sekúnd

As part of the APBC project, a series of professional workshops focused on working with the Cutometer device were held in February 2026 at the specialized facilities of JUHAPHARM s. r. o. in Košice, Bratislava, and Nitra. The events were intended for members of the research team, medical professionals, and other expert staff. They were organized by the company itself, which is engaged in applied pharmaceutical and biomedical research, with a focus on the development of innovative medical devices, drug delivery systems, and therapeutic proteins, as well as their subsequent commercialization.

As a partner in the APBC project, JUHAPHARM is responsible for the commercialization of achieved results and their successful introduction to the market. A key aspect of its activities is the effective transfer of research into practical solutions in modern healthcare, particularly in addressing the manifestations of aging, i.e., within the fields of regenerative and aesthetic medicine. The partner’s professional expertise also significantly contributes to achieving the project’s objectives in education and skills development.

The workshops were led by researcher Mgr. Martina Hermannová, a key member of the project team, who introduced participants to the methodology of measuring skin elasticity and hydration using the Cutometer. The training also included hands-on work with the device, including its technical setup, as the instrument will be used for objective assessment of skin condition in patients involved in the upcoming study. As part of the study preparation phase, Mgr. Hermannová also developed and presented comprehensive methodological procedures and standard operating protocols for working with the instrumentation, the design of data collection sheets, a data validation system, and training materials for professional staff. The aim of these activities was to implement standardized measurement procedures across all company sites, thereby ensuring consistency, accuracy, and comparability of the collected data.

Activities carried out also within the APBC project under the auspices of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice are long-term focused on bridging cutting-edge research with practical application, particularly in the fields of biotechnology and applied development. The organization of these workshops represents an important part of this effort, creating space for the exchange of expertise, methodologies, and experience between academia and the applied sector, and thereby supporting their gradual implementation in clinical practice and the development of innovative solutions with the potential to improve patients’ quality of life.
