This week, we presented our capacities at the Technology and Innovation Park UPJŠ (TIP-UPJŠ) in Košice: protein biotechnology, natural substances, screening and imaging. The audience was small and targeted — exactly as it should be. Our guest was Martina Luckaničová, founder of Amawa Ventures. The meeting was attended by Andrej Miroššay, director of TIP-UPJŠ, Zuzana Svoreňová, economic director of TIP-UPJŠ, Dušan Rostáš, head of the Technology Transfer Center (CTT), and Michaela Kendrová for CTT marketing.
There was a specific request on the table from our side: actively searching for partners in the Valencia region for custom research and for participation in European programs such as Horizon Europe.
Why Valencia? Spain has strong clusters in nutraceuticals, cosmetic ingredients and diagnostics — precisely in the segments where we have something to offer. And we have technologies at TIP-UPJŠ that they don’t have there.
Who we want to talk to: companies that need external scientific capacity for a defined assignment, and consortia that lack a partner with a real laboratory, not a presentation, for a Horizon project.
We can work in four formats — from evaluation samples to custom research to a license or a joint EU project.
The entry step is intentionally small: sample order, no framework agreement, no consortium. A decision on one test, not on cooperation.
