The University Library of UPJŠ in Košice is opening its doors to creativity! A new large-format work will be created in the library, and the library is looking for young authors and students who have the talent, desire, and courage to leave their artistic mark on this academic environment.
The large-format work will be created in the foyer of the University Library of UPJŠ in Košice on a wall measuring 4.5 x 2.5 m. This space is waiting for an idea and its new visual appearance. The theme of the work is open – it should symbolically harmonize with the environment of the University and the library, but leaves plenty of room for personal creativity.
Who can participate?
University students as well as young authors under the age of 25 can participate in the competition, either individually or in pairs.
Technique?
Creators can work with mixed media within 2D – from painting, drawing, and collage to optical illusions. The only condition is that the technique must be suitable for application directly onto the wall. The library will provide the materials.
How to apply?

– your design in electronic form
– a brief description of your concept and artistic vision
– a concise portfolio or link to your previous work

What does the artist gain?
The selected design will be turned into reality and become a permanent feature of the university library premises; its author will have the opportunity to realize their work right in the center of academic life, along with material and technical support, promotion on the web and social networks, their own artistic signature on the wall, and confirmation of cooperation in the form of a certificate.
The University Library of UPJŠ in Košice thus offers young artists a unique opportunity to connect art with the academic environment and leave a visible mark in the heart of the University.
