We have had an event full of inspiration, new contacts and great conversations. Technology and Innovation Park (TIP-UPJŠ) presented itself with great success at the largest business festival in Slovakia – Forbes BUSINESS FEST Košice. This year, the event was held in its original winter version for the first time in Košice, and we are glad that we could be a part of it.
The festival with an international concept once again showed how well it can connect business, professional discussions and a relaxed festival atmosphere. It brought hundreds of inspiring people looking for new connections and cooperation – exactly the space where TIP-UPJŠ has something to offer.
What did we bring to Forbes Fest?
At the event, we presented the most essential aspects of our mission:
• support for innovation,
• technology transfer,
• development of startups,
• connecting science parks with the private sector.
The participants had the opportunity to talk about these topics directly with the director of TIP-UPJŠ, RNDr. Andrej Mirossay, PhD., and members of our team who live innovations in practice every day.
We also presented our key projects
The Antarctica Project – an upcoming 2-month scientific expedition led by Assoc. Prof. RNDr. Michal Goga, PhD., focused on researching mosses and lichens and testing products of partner companies directly in the extreme conditions of Antarctica.
The APBC Project – an international project in the field of protein biotechnology, led by the head of the Center for Interdisciplinary Biosciences, Prof. RNDr. Erik Sedlák, DrSc. The project connects academic excellence with the private sector with the aim of solving key economic and social challenges in Slovakia – including the ongoing brain drain, especially in the eastern Slovak region.
Forbes Business Fest Košice brought more than 50 speakers on three stages, hundreds of participants and numerous opportunities for new contacts and cooperation. The energy we experienced at the festival pushes us forward in our efforts to build an innovation ecosystem in Eastern Slovakia.
We thank everyone who stopped by our booth. We greatly appreciate all the conversations, ideas and new connections. We look forward to further joint projects and opportunities that will arise thanks to this event.
