We invite you to a seminar dedicated to the implementation of the Prehistoric Silk Road exploration project.

The Center for Integrative Paleobiology TIP-UPJŠ welcomes colleagues from Canada and Switzerland!

On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 9 a.m., a special seminar will be held, featuring the following speakers:

Prof. Donald Brinkman
University of Alberta + Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaentology, Canada
Title of lecture: Late Cretaceous non-marine fishes of Uzbekistan and North America – diversity and paleobiogeography

MSc. Léa Girard
University of Fribourg, Switzerland
Title of lecture: The revised morphology and phylogeny of softshell turtles (Trionychidae) reveal a faunal turnover in North America

Both colleagues are participating in the Prehistoric Silk Road project, which aims to study marine and continental biodiversity under the climatic conditions of the last major global warming of our planet 90 million years ago.


Study at UPJŠ
