The University Library, in cooperation with Albertina icome Bratislava, brings you access to Writefull, a professional tool for proofreading academic texts in English. The service will be available until August 31, 2026.
How Writefull can help you:
It focuses on academic English – it has been trained on millions of scientific texts and will help with grammar, spelling, and specific phrases and vocabulary used in an academic environment.
It saves time – with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) and an extensive language database, it quickly checks the text and suggests improvements.
It teaches – it shows how words and phrases are commonly used, how often they occur, and helps find the right synonyms.

Writefull for Word – MS Word add-in for ongoing revisions
Writefull for Overleaf – web browser add-in for ongoing revisions
Writefull Revise – language check for finished academic texts
Writefull Cite – identifies those parts of an academic text where a citation should be included
Writefull X – title and abstract generator, paraphraser, Academizer, and GPT detector
INSTRUCTIONS for installing the Writefull add-in for Microsoft Word:
1. Installing the add-in in Word
– Open a new or existing document in Microsoft Word.
– In the top bar, go to the Insert tab and click GetAdd-ins (or Home and Add-ins).
– In the window that opens, search for Writefull.
– Click the Add button next to the Writefulladd-in and confirm the installation.
– After adding the add-in, a new menu called Writefull will appear at the end of the Home section in the top bar.
2. Activating your account
You need an active account to use Writefull to its full extent.
– Click on the Writefull menu in the top bar and then on the Don’t have an account? Register.
– Enter your university email address (@upjs.sk) and password. Confirm your registration via the Create account link.
– You will then receive an email with a verification code to complete your registration.
– Your account will then be activated, and you can start using Writefull to write and edit your texts.
3. Writefull Revise, Cite, X
To use these features, simply use the university email and password you used to activate your Writefull for Word account.
Access to Writefull is not tied to an IP address, so you can use it anywhere, not just on the university network.
