Scientist of the year SR 2017

The Center of Scientific and Technical Information of the Slovak Republic, the Slovak Academy of Sciences, and the Association of Slovak Science and Technology Societies have announced this year the 21st annual award for significant Slovak scientists, technologists, and young researchers from all fields of science and technology – Scientist of the Year 2017. Among the awarded for the past year was also prof. Mgr. Pavol Miškovský, DrSc., who received the award in the category of Technologist of the Year. He received his award during the solemn declaration of results on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 2.00 pm. in the Mirror Hall of the Primaciálny palác in Bratislava.

 “I perceive this prize in particular as a prize for the team and our university, which with project TIP – UPJŠ declares its strong ambition to be among the leading universities in the world”, said prof. Mgr. Pavol Miškovský, DrSc. from the Center of Interdisciplinary Biosciences, Technological and Innovation Park UPJŠ in Košice.
The award Scientist of the year 2017 in the category of Technologist of the year has been awarded for the development of nanotechnology for the selective and sensitive detection of persistent organic pollutants in the aquatic environment and food, also awarded by the prestigious international grant under the H2020 SME –instrument.  In addition to the above-mentioned category, awards were also awarded within the categories of the Scientist of the Year, Young Scientist, Innovator of the Year, and Personality of the International Cooperation.
