TIP-UPJŠ meeting with representatives of the World Bank

On June 28, 2021, a meeting with the World Bank took place on the premises of UPJŠ in Košice on Jesenná Street, which was attended by the director of TIP-UPJŠ, prof. RNDr. Pavol Miškovský, DrSc., Head of the Center for Technology Transfer, doc. JUDr. Renáta Bačárová, PhD., LL.M., Lawyer of the Center for Technology Transfer, JUDr. Laura Rózenfeldová, PhD., Head of the Department of Business and Marketing TIP-UPJŠ, Mgr. Roman Oros, Specialist for the Department of Business and Marketing TIP-UPJŠ, Mgr. Viktória Bančanská, Marketing and PR manager TIP-UPJŠ, Mgr. Slavomíra Hrabovská and representatives from the World Bank Grzegorz Aleksander Wolszczak, Leader for R&D components CuRI KSK and Krzysztof Malicki, Specialist for R&D components CuRI KSK.

Based on the recommendations of the World Bank, Mgr. Viktória Bančanská presented the application of two ways of releasing the R&D infrastructure, namely the release of the R&D infrastructure for commercial purposes without any restrictions and the release of the R&D infrastructure for commercial purposes in the amount of 20% of auxiliary capacity. Participants discussed the simplest methods of calculating ancillary capacity to be used by the private sector. These activities will strengthen cooperation between universities and the private sector, enabling private companies to use the university’s scientific infrastructure for commercial purposes. The result of this meeting is the elaboration of specific calculations for the release of the infrastructure of the Center for Interdisciplinary Biosciences TIP-UPJŠ on Jesenná Street and the subsequent support and consultation of the World Bank representatives in their implementation.
