Louis Pasteur University Hospital in Košice

The history of L. Pasteur University Hospital in Košice (UNLP) began in the early 20th century. The Hungarian state in 1913 expressed its consent to the construction of a 600 bed state hospital in Košice. It was opened on 24 June 1924 and its first director was MUDr. Jozef Uram. History of so-called “New Hospital” at Trieda SNP 1 started on December 21, 1973, when a health centre was put into operation. Currently UNLP Košice is treating its patients on more than 1350 beds. An important milestone was the establishment of a branch of the Faculty of Medicine of the Slovak University in Košice, whereby the state hospital in Košice became a teaching base for future doctors.

L. Pasteur University Hospital in Košice offers a wide application in the field of health care.
